EPISODE 6

George drove out of the mansion premises,Kate’s voice interrupting the silence.
“Please stop,” Kate said.
George stopped the car, and Kate removed her seatbelt.
“Where are you going?” George asked.
“I’m going to work,” Kate replied, stepping out.
As she shut the door, George called out, “Wait!”
He unbuckled his seatbelt and exited the car.
“Get back in,” George said. “I’ll drop you off.”
Kate nodded, returning to the car.
They drove in silence until they reached Kate’s workplace.
“I’ll come pick you up once I’m done, to go get the new clothes.”
“I don’t need new clothes,” Kate said as George pulled over.
“I’m not doing it for you,” George replied with a smirk. “I’m doing it for Grandma. I don’t want her drama.”
Kate’s eyes met George’s, a hint of understanding passing between them.
“I’ll pick you up later,” George said.
Kate nodded. “I’ll go now.”
She exited the car and went into the building.
George’s mind wandered as he drove away. His phone buzzed, snapping him back to reality. Ava’s text flashed on the screen: “Can’t wait to see you.” George’s expression softened, but his thoughts remained with Kate.
He arrived at James Park, where Ava waited, smiling.
They went to a table for two to talk.
Just as they were talking, one of George’s bodyguards called.
“Sir, we found a bracelet in the suit you wore during the accident. Should we throw it away or keep it?”
“Keep it in my room. I’ll check it when I return,” George replied.
After the call ended, George turned to Ava.
“I’ve thought about what you said…I really want you to be my girlfriend.”
Ava blushed. “Yes, I will, I will be your girlfriend.”
George smiled.
“I’ll be traveling in two days’ time. If I return, I’ll take you to see my grandma, and I promise to keep in touch by phone.”
Ava smiled, imagining herself in a luxurious mansion with guards around, ordering them about.
After some time, George broke the trance by asking, “What would you like to eat?”
Ava returned from her daydreaming. “Anything will do.”
After the outing, George went to pick up Kate and took her to a luxury boutique.
As they entered, the workers welcomed them warmly.
“Welcome, ma’am, welcome, sir. Do you need clothes to match for couples?”
“Just for her only,” George replied.
They brought many clothes for Kate.
She was asked to try them on, but George refused.
“Just pack them like that,” he said.
They went home.
Granny was very happy to see them back.
“But George wasn’t happy…he needed to travel that night, as he received an urgent call about their branch business abroad.”
Granny understood and asked him to get ready and go.
George went upstairs, quickly came back, kissed Granny’s cheek, and left.
Kate asked Granny, “Is everything okay?”
Granny nodded.
****ONE MONTH ON******
One month passed.
George landed back in the country.
Meanwhile, Kate was at work, feeling restless and vomiting rapidly.
Kate’s boss instructed her to take a day off and return home. As she arrived, she suddenly fainted at the door.
The staff quickly rushed to her aid, carrying her inside. Granny immediately called for a doctor.
The doctor examined Kate and assured Granny, “She’s fine, just needs rest and proper nutrition. She’s expecting.”
Granny beamed with joy, thanking the doctor, and asked the staff to escort him out.
An hour passed, and Kate regained consciousness, finding Granny by her side.
“Granny, what happened? How did I get here?” Kate inquired.
“You fainted, dear,” Granny replied soothingly.
Meanwhile, George arrived at the mansion, eager to reunite with his grandma. He stepped inside, warmth filling his heart.
George asked the staff, “Where’s my grandma?”
“They’re in Kate’s room, sir,” the staff replied. “Kate fainted, and Granny is with her.”
George swiftly dropped his bag on the table and rushed upstairs to Kate’s bedroom.
Before entering Kate’s room, he overheard Granny questioning Kate.
“Kate, do you have a boyfriend?” Granny asked.
“Granny, like I told you before, I’m an orphan,” Kate explained. “I want to stand on my own before considering any relationship. I don’t have a boyfriend, and I’ve never had one”
Granny nodded understandingly. “Has anyone else been intimate with you apart from my son?”
Kate’s eyebrows rose. “No, ma’am. No one else,” she replied firmly.
Granny hugged Kate tightly. “Congratulations, dear! You’ll be a wonderful mother, and I’ll be a proud great-grandma. The doctor confirmed your pregnancy.”
Kate’s eyes widened in shock.
“Granny, I’m pregnant?” Kate exclaimed, incredulous. “That’s impossible!”
Just then, George entered the room, and Granny rushed to hug him.
“Welcome back, son! I didn’t know you’d arrived. And congratulations, you’re going to be a father!”
George replied, “Grandma, I’ve really missed you a lot.”
He gently asked, “Please, Granny, step aside. I want to talk to Kate.”
Granny stepped aside, and George approached Kate.
“So, you planned this pregnancy to trap me?” George accused, his voice laced with misunderstanding. “Why didn’t you take contraceptives after what happened between us?”
Kate ignored his questions, gathered her strength, and stood up. She packed her bags, determined to leave.
“Granny, I can’t stay here anymore. Your son’s words hurt me,” Kate explained, tears welling up.
Granny begged Kate to stay, but Kate refused.
“It’s a matter of my self-respect,” Kate asserted.
Granny understood and handed Kate some money, but Kate declined.
George intervened, “Stop pretending. You took four million from me, didn’t you?”
Kate left the room, and George retreated to his own.
Later, Granny visited George’s room.
“Bring Kate back, son. She’s carrying your child. Don’t let pride ruin everything,” Granny urged.
George nodded, “Okay.” ,George rushed outside, inquiring about Kate’s whereabouts.
“Has Kate left?” he asked the staff.
“Yes, sir. She left a few minutes ago,” the staff replied.
George decided to search for Kate and stepped outside, scanning the surrounding area. Just as he emerged, he spotted her slipping into a cab.
He swiftly rushed back inside, grabbed his car keys, and sped out of the driveway. He tried to follow the cab but couldn’t find it.
