EPISODE 11

George stepped out of the hospital, ignoring his injuries. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
“Please trace this truck number,” George said urgently. “I want the person who hurt Kate found within 24 hours.”
He recalled the truck’s plate number from the accident scene and relayed it.
The person on the other end assured, “I’ll investigate right away, sir.”
George returned to the hospital, holding back tears. He entered Kate’s room, then went to hold his newborn baby.
Next, he dialed Granny’s number, his voice shaking.
“Kate gave birth, but she isn’t opening her eyes,” George said, choking back tears.
Granny asked, concerned, “What do you mean? She’s not opening her eyes?”
George recounted the accident, his emotions raw.
“She was hurt badly, Granny. I don’t know if she’ll wake up.”
Granny gasped, horrified.
“I’m coming right away,” she said.
Meanwhile, the truck driver called Mr. Jace.
“I finished the job. I need my payment,” the driver said.
Mr. Jace smiled, satisfied.
“I’ll send the money. Leave the city immediately and never return.”
The driver agreed.
Back at the hospital, Granny arrived, her face etched with worry.
She rushed to console George, holding the baby.
“Please, Granny, tell Kate to wake up,” George begged, tears streaming.
Granny hugged him tightly.
“We’ll get through this, George. We will.”
After a few minutes, George told Granny to take the baby home.
Ava saw an opportunity. “Granny, let me help. She’s old and can’t do this alone.”
Granny replied, “Don’t worry, I’ll get a nanny.”
Ava’s mom intervened, “Granny, Ava is Kate’s sister. Family is better than a stranger.”
George agreed, “Granny, this isn’t the time to argue. Let Ava help.”
Granny, Ava, and the baby left.
Two hours later, George sent Ethan and his wife home.
“I’ll stay with Kate,” George said.
As they left, George received a call.
“We found the driver’s face on surveillance cameras. We have him in custody in your warehouse”
George arrived at the warehouse, his anger boiling.
He confronted the driver, fists clenched.
“How dare you hurt Kate and try to ki!! my child?” George demanded.
The driver pleaded, “I needed money.”
George seethed, “You tried to ki!l me for money?”
The driver refused to reveal who hired him.
George’s anger intensified.
“Tell me, or I’ll run you over with your own truck.”
The driver cracked.
“Mr. Jace Thompson hired me.”
“That isn’t possible,” George said, incredulous. “That’s my uncle, my father’s friend and business partner.”
The truck driver nodded sympathetically. “I understand your skepticism, but I’m telling you the truth. I can call him if you want, so you can hear it from him yourself.”
George’s eyes widened. “Go ahead?”
The truck driver nodded and dialed Mr. Jace’s number, putting it on speakerphone and recording.
“Hello?” Mr. Jace’s voice came through the line.
“Hello, Mr. Jace,” the truck driver said. “Sir, I went back to the accident scene. I think George survived, and they have been taken to the hospital.”
Jace replied from the other end, “Not again… Why does all my attempt to el!minate him always fail? When I ki;led his parents, it didn’t take me time… it was just once. Now, go look for the hospital and finish him.”
The truck driver replied, “Right away.”
As soon as the call ended, the driver turned to George who stumbled.
George’s eyes widened in shock, his face pale.
“My uncle, my father’s friend, did this to me and my parents.”
He called the police immediately.
“Arrest Mr. Thompson Jace for conspiracy, mur$er, and attempted mur$er. I have a witness.”
George and the police arrived at Mr. Jace’s compound. Mr. Jace’s expression changed from calm to shock.
“George! What’s going on here?” Mr. Jace asked, feigning innocence.
The police stepped forward.
“Mr. Thompson Jace, you’re under arrest for conspiracy, mu$der, and attempted mu$der,” an officer announced.
Mr. Jace’s eyes widened.
“What are you talking about?” he stammered.
The truck driver, handcuffed, spoke up.
“Mr. Jace hired me to ki!! George and his family.”
Mr. Jace’s face turned red.
“I don’t know this man!” Mr. Jace protested. “He’s lying!”
George’s anger flared.
“Don’t deny it, Uncle,” George spat. “We have evidence.”
The police presented the recording of Mr. Jace’s conversation with the truck driver.
Mr. Jace’s facade crumbled.
“No…this can’t be,” he muttered.
The police handcuffed Mr. Jace, reading him his rights.
**********THREE YEARS ON**********
Three years had passed since Kate’s tragic accident. She lay motionless in George’s room, her condition unchanged. Doctors had advised George to consider euthanasia (a medical procedure to end a person’s life painlessly, often used when someone is suffering from an incurable illness or condition) but he refused, holding onto hope.
Ava, persistent in her pursuit of George, had made numerous advances, only to be firmly rejected.
One afternoon, Jenson, now three, darted through the house, evading Ava’s attempts to feed him. Granny was at the hospital, and the staff were on leave. George was at work.
Jenson ran to his father’s room, desperate to escape Ava. His father had told him never to enter this room, but fear drove him forward.
Inside, Jenson saw Kate lying in bed, motionless. He was startled but didn’t think twice.
“Miss, please help me!” Jenson begged, tugging on Kate’s hand.
Kate remained still, unresponsive.
Ava entered the room, sneering. “Who will save you from me? Your dad’s away, Granny’s hospitalized, and the staff are gone. That vegetable laying in bed, won’t help you.”
Jenson cried uncontrollably as Ava approached.
Just as Ava raised her hand to slap Jenson, Kate’s eyes flickered open.
“Stop!” Kate shouted.
Just then, George returned. He headed to his room and saw the door open. He rushed inside and saw Kate’s eyes were open, with Ava and Jenson in the room.
George ran to Kate and hugged her. “Thank God, my love is back!”
But Kate pushed him away and broke free. “Who are you?” she asked.
Ava was equally shocked.
“Where is this place?” Kate demanded.
Ava struggled to speak, also stunned.
