ONE NIGHT OF PLEASURE, FOREVER BOUND.
EPISODE 10
WRITTEN BY RUKEVWE MERRY
George and Kate dressed up for the night party. As they stepped out of the sitting room, they met with Granny, who was watching her usual romantic movies.
Granny asked, “Where are you two going this late at night?”
George replied, “We’re going to meet Mr. Jace, Father’s friend and business partner.”
Granny’s expression turned stern.
“Return to your room. It’s late, and the doctor said Kate should have enough rest.”
George tried to insist on going, but Granny’s words were firm.
Kate decided to take George back to the room.
“Let’s go back, George. We can attend another time.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Jace ordered a truck to wait outside George’s mansion.
“Once George’s car comes out, crush them,” he instructed.
George returned to the room with Kate and put a call through to Mr. Jace.
“Hello, Uncle. I’m sorry, but I won’t make it tonight.”
Mr. Jace acted nicely on the phone.
“No worries, George. Take care.”
“As soon as the call ended, Mr. Jace’s face turned angry. How long until I can el!minate that boy?”
He smashed the glasses on the table.
Back at George’s mansion, Kate told him, “I want you to meet my family and ask for my hand in marriage.”
George replied, “I won’t meet those wicked people. We should just register our marriage.”
But Kate refused.
After some back-and-forth, George agreed.
“Fine, call your uncle Ethan.”
Kate put a call through to Uncle Ethan.
“Hello, Kate. How are you?” Ethan asked.
“I’m fine, Uncle. I want to come with my fiancΓ© to ask for my hand in marriage.”
Ethan replied, “Do you have a fiancΓ© now? Are you in a relationship?”
Kate said, “Yes, Uncle. The man I rescued from the accident is the one.”
Ethan asked, “Do you mean George Alexander?”
Kate inquired, “How did you know his name?”
Ethan replied, “Is he close to you? Hand over the phone to him.”
George took the phone from Kate.
Ethan spoke from the other end.
“George, please forgive us for lying to you for Kate’s sake.”
George replied, “Return to your house, and I’ll do the formalities legally. I’ll forgive you for Kate’s sake.”
Ethan said, “Thank you, George. You’re so kind. We’ll return home tomorrow. You and Kate can come by at 2 pm.”
George replied, “Alright, and bye.”
******THE NEXT DAY*******
The next day, they arrived at Ethan’s family mansion.
Ethan greeted them warmly.
George’s eyes narrowed.
“You l!ed to me, but for Kate, I forgive you.”
Ethan nodded.
“We are sorry.”
George’s gaze softened.
“I understand. Let’s move forward.”
The family discussion went smoothly.
As Kate stood up to leave, she suddenly felt dizzy. Her eyes began to blur, and her legs wobbled. George, standing beside her, noticed her stumbling.
“Kate?” George said, concern etched on his face.
Kate tried to take a step forward but couldn’t. Her body swayed, and she collapsed into George’s arms.
“Kate!” George exclaimed, catching her.
Ethan and his family rushed to her side.
“Call an ambulance!” Ethan ordered.
They quickly rushed Kate to the hospital.
**********THE HOSPITAL**********
At the hospital, the doctor delivered shocking news.
“Kate is pregnant,” the doctor announced.
Ethan, his wife, and Ava gasped in surprise.
George nodded calmly.
“I know,” he said.
The doctor continued, “Her body is weak, and she needs complete rest. She almost had a threatened abortion. Bed rest is crucial.”
George promised, “I’ll take care of her.”
Kate woke up after a few hours, and George took her home.
*********EIGHT MONTHS ON*********
Eight months passed, with Mr. Jace’s repeated failed attempts to harm George and Kate.
Kate reminded George, “After the baby is born, we can get married. The doctor said I need to rest.”
One evening, Ethan invited them to Ava’s birthday party.
Kate insisted on attending, despite George’s concerns.
“Just one day out, please. I’ve been cooped up for eight months,” Kate pleaded.
George relented.
As they prepared to leave, Kate was excited.
They dressed up and got into the car, with George’s driver and bodyguard in the front seats.
On the route to Ethan’s house, disaster struck.
A hit-and-run truck, hired by Mr. Jace, rammed into their vehicle.
The impact was deafening.
The car crumpled, and Kate’s head slammed against the window.
Glass shattered, and metal screeched.
George yelled, “Kate!”
Their bodyguard struggled to open the mangled door.
Kate’s limp body hung, suspended by her seatbelt.
George’s driver groaned, injured but alive.
The bodyguard freed Kate, and George cradled her in his arms.
Kate’s eyes fluttered closed.
George screamed, “Kate! Wake up!”
But Kate’s world went dark.
The impact had left her with a severe head injury.
As George held her, blood trickled from Kate’s forehead.
The bodyguard quickly called for an ambulance.
“Emergency services, what’s your location?” the operator asked.
“We’re on Maple Street, near Ethan’s residence. We’ve been in an accident. My boss’s wife, Kate, is injured,” the bodyguard replied.
“Help is on the way. Stay calm,” the operator reassured.
In minutes, the ambulance arrived.
Paramedics rushed to Kate’s side.
“Let’s get her stabilized and get her to the hospital, now!” one of them shouted.
George watched anxiously as Kate was loaded into the ambulance.
He jumped in beside her.
“Hold on, Kate. Please hold on,” George whispered.
At the hospital, doctors and nurses swarmed around Kate.
“Immediate operation needed to save the child and mother,” a doctor announced.
George signed the consent form with shaking hands.
In the operating theater, Kate suddenly opened her eyes.
She struggled against the nurses and doctors.
“One nurse screamed, ‘She’s going into forced labor! The baby is coming!'”
In less than an hour, Kate gave birth to a healthy baby boy.
But Kate’s eyes closed, and she fell into a deep sleep.
Doctors rushed outside to George.
“Congratulations, your wife gave birth to a son,” a doctor told George.
George’s voice trembled.
“Thank you… how is she doing?”
Just then, George’s phone rang.
It was Ethan.
“Are you guys not coming again? The party has started,” Ethan asked.
George replied, “We were in an accident. We’re at the hospital.”
Ethan exclaimed, “What?! Which hospital are you at?”
George named the hospital.
Ethan promised, “We’ll be right there.”
George turned to the doctor.
“How is she,he asked again?”
The doctor’s expression turned grim.
“We have bad news… She slipped into a coma,” the doctor said gently.
George’s face contorted in shock.
“What?! No! No! No!” George exclaimed, his voice shaking.
He stumbled backward, as if punched in the gut.
“How can this be? She was fine! She was going to be okay!” George pleaded.
Just then, a nurse approached him with a tiny bundle of joy.
“Congratulations, you’re a father!” she said softly.
George’s eyes welled up with tears as he gazed at his newborn son.
He took the baby in his arms, cradling him tightly.
“Mom will be okay, little one,” George whispered.
The doctor continued, “We’re doing everything possible to save Kate.”
George’s gaze never left his son’s face.
Twenty-five minutes passed, feeling like an eternity.
Finally, Ethan and his family arrived, rushing into the hospital room.
“George! Oh my God, what happened?” Ethan exclaimed.
George’s voice cracked.
“She’s in a coma.”
Ethan’s wife gasped.
“Oh no! This can’t be happening!”
Ava asked, “Can I hold the baby?”
George handed her the baby.
Ava gazed at the newborn.
“He’s beautiful.”
George forced a smile.
“Yeah, he is.”
Ethan placed a comforting hand on George’s shoulder.
“We’re here for you, George.”
