NONSENSE MISTAKE

When Oluchi entered her former city, she was so excited and full of herself that Ofoma will accept her back again.

‘Ofoma, I’m back again. Your true love is back to make you happy. I shouldn’t have left your life, but I’m here now to make every thing right again” she said, stopping a bike.
And then gave the bike man a direction to Ofoma’s place.

When she got there, she was informed by a young man that Ofoma was no longer living there, that he had relocated to another place.

“Please, do you know where I can find him? I mean, where he relocated to?”

“I don’t really know, but I heard it’s some where in the main town. Don’t you have his number, why not call him?” The young man suggested

And Oluchi quickly recalled how she deleted his cell phone numbers from her phone.

“Hmm, you see, my phone had a problem and all the contacts in it got wiped out, can you please give me his number?”

“Oh sorry, I don’t have his number. If you will excuse me, I need to attend to some thing”

“Oh sure, thanks” she appreciated and then continued speaking to herself: “what am I going to do now, and there is nobody here to ask. I think the best thing to do is to call Chidimma and tell her that I’m in town.”

She then dialed her number and informed her that she was in town.

“Really? How come you didn’t tell me you were coming?”

“It’s a very long story, please I have a problem now. I need a place to crash”

“You can come to my place, you needed not to ask. You know I relocated fully to the city after you left and I’m occupying your former house, have you forgotten?”

“Yes I know, just that I wanted to stay at Ofoma’s place, but I don’t know where he relocated to” Oluchi said in her heart and then pretended not to have remembered.

“Ow, I even forgot. Now that I have you here, things will be easier for me”

“Yea sure, I’m at home now, will be expecting you” and then, they ended the call

“But what is she doing in the city? She came without informing me and she did not even made arrangement for accommodation?

That girl is something else. Anyway, I can’t wait to see her, it’s been a long time.” Chidimma said, looking excited

Few minutes later, she stormed her former apartment. Her old friends who were still living in the building were happy to see her as they exchanged pleasantries.

After she settled in, Chidimma began asking her why she came.

“Are you really asking me that? Can’t one visit her former city again?” She replied rudely

“Oh dear, why sounding so harsh? I was just asking a question.”

“Chidimma, to tell you the truth, I’m in pains, I’m not happy at all” she said, looking sad

“Yes, I noticed that, would you mind sharing with me?” Chidimma requested

“Before I share my unfortunate story, can I first hear your story with Ofoma? Atleast that will gladden my heart a little”

And unsuspecting Chidimma began sharing her happy story, how she was able to help Ofoma transform to a contemporary guy.

“Babe, you need to see him, he has changed. That L and R stuff has stopped.

He was been able to work on himself, he is changed now. You know, the way you left him made him realised his flaws and through my advise and encouragement, he was able to work on himself. That guy is so cute now, seriously”

“It’s a lie, that can’t be”

“Ah ah! Why should I lie naa? I’m telling you the truth. The guy is so sweet now and more rich.”

“Wow, thank God that I left him, otherwise, Chidimma wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do all these things for me. By changing Ofoma, he has done a great deal for me. Wow! This is so good to hear” she said in her heart. And then spoke up: “Wow! You were able to do all these?”

“Yes, he is so madly in love with me. Could he believe that he has proposed?” Chidimma said, smiling happily, showing Oluchi her engagement ring which fitted firmly on her middle finger.

“What?” Shocked Oluchi asked, standing up, looking meanly at Chidimma.

“Yes, you are surprised, right? We are engaged now” Chidimma continued, looking at Oluchi, who stood motionless, watching her and the ring on her finger.

“But you did not inform me about it?”

“Hmm, yea… I was looking for a way to tell you about it since you don’t like using ear to hear anything about Ofoma, so I decided to wait for the perfect opportunity.

I know how you scolded me last time when I wanted to share something relating to him” she said, noticing Oluchi’s furious mood. And continued: “But, why are you standing like that? Did I say anything wrong?”

“Yes Chidimma, everything is wrong, because you are about to steal my man. My true love, my one and only true love” Oluchi sounded rudely, she never expected that Chidimma would make it that far with Ofoma.

Chidimma was confused, she tried understanding what Oluchi meant by the statement she just made.

“Chidimma listen, I don’t want to be rude, but I’m telling you, you are not going anywhere with Ofoma, because I have returned for him.

He is the reason I’m here to start our love afresh. So you need to step aside, do I make myself clear?” Oluchi asked, with so much domineering mode flashing through her face…
