NIGHTCLUB CHRONICLES
CHAPTER 7
He removed a knife and that got me scared. Fighting in clubs seemed to be my favourite pastime. I had fought guys wielding bottles, crates, broken chairs. But a guy with a knife was something I wasn’t accustomed to, especially one who happened to be a doctor. You know, doctors and sharp objects and all that.
I quickly removed my T-shirt and wrapped it around my hand, a move I had seen in movies. He came at me bending low like a professional. I ducked just in time. He came again and I used a broken crate I had only just noticed and flung at him. It hit the hand holding the knife and it dropped. I quickly ran forward and kicked the knife into an opensewage system.
The time for weapons was over. He was aware he couldn’t match my punching skills, so he used the traditional method. He grabbed me around the waist and tried to wrestle me to the ground. I resisted. We struggled for about 15 minutes before I succeed to headbutt him on his chin. It drew blood immediately and he let me go, holding his mouth, trying to stem the flow of blood.
I was about to rush at him when I saw two bouncers approaching. They came close and half dragged me away. They spoke in French as they dragged.
“C’est le même gars, non?” The bigger guy said.
“Ouais. Il se bat toujours dans le club. Peut-être devrions-nous lui interdire de venir ici ” The other guy responded.
“Appelons la police ”
“Non, peut-être la prochaine fois. ”
I couldn’t understand what they were saying. I was however, taken back to the club and warned not to cause any more trouble. I went back to my seat 🪑 and luckily for me, my dress wasn’t soiled. However, it looked ruffled.
“Where have you been babe?” Linda asked.
“Outside, taking in the fresh air”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, babe.”
“But your dress looks ruffled.”
“Don’t sweat it. It’s nothing. Some guys were fighting and I helped separate them. ”
“Ok, if you say so.”
“I think we should go home.” I suddenly announced.
“Why?”
“Let’s just go.”
She didn’t ask any further questions. We finished our drinks, got up and left. When we got to the exit, I stared down at the bouncers before leaving. As we approached the car 🚗, I noticed someone coming towards our direction. Not someone actually, a group of boys. I looked closely and you guessed right. It was the doctor and a group of guys coming to us.
