My Wife My Nemesis

My Wife, My Nemesis
Chapter one

The fake smile I’d plastered on my face dropped instantly as we entered the guest room, we’d be spending our supposedly first night as a couple and locked the door. I heaved a sigh of relief as I could finally show my displeasure at the dis.as.ter I got as a wife.

I had to put up the fake smile for many hours in the presence of the over two hundred guests who had graced our wedding. I still couldn’t believe I got myself in such mess.

“Happy married life to us, my darling, Darlington. Let’s cheer to this beautiful beginning.” My wife, Blessing said, all smiles, as she faced me with two glasses of wine in her hands. I huffed in annoyance.

“Are you seriously offering me wine right now? When you and I both know that you’re a poi.son. A de.adly poi.son at that. So, I should collect a drink from a poi.son, itself? You’re stu.pid.” I snapped at her furiously. She chuckled dryly before replying me calmly.

“C’mon hubby, I’m offended by that. I’m your wife now, I won’t endanger your life. I can’t even endanger your life, you’re one tough guy, I know that much. A tough, powerful guy who can bring heaven down to earth with his father’s money.” She sneered mockingly at me. I was enraged.

“Spare me that bu.ll.sh.it, w.i.t.ch! You’re already endangering my life, what am I even saying? You’ve ruined my life. I regret meeting you. You’re a nightmare.” I yelled at her.

“My darling, that regret can’t change what has happened. We’re going to be stuck together forever. Just accept the reality and let’s be on good terms. There’s no point crying over a spilled milk, you know. At least, you’ve had your own fair share of enjoyment in life, it’s time for you to experience unhappiness too. You need to understand how happiness and unhappiness works, separately, so you’d actually be able to say you’ve lived life. How would you be able to appreciate happiness when you haven’t experienced unhappiness? I want you to have that experience. Experience, they say, is the best teacher.” She smiled darkly at me. I shook my head in disbelief.

“You’re sick. You are a sa.d.is.t. It’s obvious you’re tired of living, but why have you decided to not die alone? Why must you drag me down with you? Why??” I seethed with anger. She chuckled again and dropped the glasses in her hands.

“Oh my! My love, you deserve to be dragged down. We belong to this he.l.l together. Now, let’s consummate our wedding. I hope you’ve come with the usual handcuffs, chains…and yeah, that belt you love using so much?”

She walked towards me seductively and I pounced on her. I pushed her to the bed and climbed over her. I held her neck tightly and started stran.gling her.

“Yeah, let’s just end everything here. Let me just k.il.l you and put an end to your mise.ry.” I gritted angrily.
