Patrick woke up in his hotel room, feeling refreshed. He had made up his mind to leave the city and return to the village to see his parents
After checking out, Patrick decided to treat himself to a luxurious surprise. He visited a high-end car dealership and purchased a sleek, black 2024 Range Rover Vogue, valued at β¦75 million.
The salesman’s eyes widened as Patrick paid in full, without hesitation.
“Sir, you’ve made an excellent choice,” the salesman said, handing Patrick the keys.
Patrick smiled, feeling a sense of freedom. “I deserve it.”
He drove his new car out of the city, enjoying the smooth ride and the admiring glances from passersby.
Patrick pulled up to his father’s compound in a sleek, black 2024 Range Rover SUV, its luxurious presence commanding attention. The vehicle’s engine purred to a stop, and Patrick emerged, a triumphant smile spreading across his face.
His parents, caught off guard by the sudden arrival, hastened to greet him. His mother’s eyes widened in astonishment.
“Patrick!” she exclaimed, rushing into his arms.
His father followed, embracing his son warmly, his gaze drifting to the luxurious SUV.
“Whose car is this?” his father asked, incredulity etched on his face. “And why are you driving it?.”
Patrick’s smile broadened mischievously. “Let me retrieve the provisions I brought for you.”
He proceeded to unload bags of food items and provisions from the boot, his parents exchanging surprise glances.
“Where did you get this car?. What’s going on?”
Who gave you so much money to buy this food provisions? His mother asked.
Patrick chuckled. “Calm down, Mom and Dad. I’ll tell you everything in four days.”
His father’s eyes narrowed. “What’s happening in four days, Patrick? You’re starting to worry us.”
Patrick’s expression turned serious. “I want a family meeting. Dad, please invite Ken, Emma, and Cynthia. I need to talk to them.”
His father nodded. “Alright, son. I’ll call them. They’ll be here on Saturday.”
Patrick nodded and pulled out his phone to call Perry and Bright.
“Time to update them” he thought.
First he dialed Perry’s number, his parents watched, eager to unravel the mystery surrounding their son’s sudden wealth.
SATURDAY (VILLAGE)
Saturday morning dawned bright and early, casting a warm glow over the compound. Ken pulled up with his wife Lucy, expecting a routine family visit.
As they stepped out, Ken’s eyes widened in shock.
“Wow, I heard this car is worth 90 to 100 million naira!” Ken exclaimed, staring at the sleek, black Range Rover SUV.
“Who owns this car?” Ken asked, curiosity etched on his face. “And why is it parked here, of all places?”
Lucy shrugged. “Maybe it’s your brother Patrick’s.”
Ken snorted. “That broke guy? Cannot afford a car, talk less of this SUV Range Rover!”
Lucy raised an eyebrow. “You never know, Ken. Maybe Patrick’s fortunes have changed.”
Ken scoffed. “I doubt it. He’s always been irrespons!ble with money.”
Just then, Cynthia pulled up, her eyes scanning the compound.
“What’s going on?” Cynthia asked, spotting the SUV. “Who owns this car?”
Emma arrived next, eyes wide with wonder. “Wow, someone’s living large!”
Bright and Perry arrived, surprised to see everyone outside. They exchanged surprised glances but didn’t say much. Everyone then went inside, curious about what was happening. Patrick was already inside, waiting for them.
INSIDE
After a few minutes, Patrick emerged from his room, a calm smile on his face.
But before he could speak, Cynthia pounced.
“So, you’re back to leech off your parents, Patrick? Get a life!” Cynthia spat.
Patrick ignored her, greeting Perry and Bright warmly.
Their father cleared his throat, commanding attention. “Everyone, Patrick asked me to call you all here today.”
Ken’s face twisted in anger. “So, you summoned me because of this good-for-nothing son of yours?”
Their father’s voice boomed. “How dare you! Apologize to your elder brother, who has sacrificed so much for you!”
Ken’s retort was icy. “He’s not my brother. I’ve disowned him.”
Their mother intervened, her voice soft but firm. “Ken, please.”
Emma stood up to Ken. “What’s your problem, Ken?”
Cynthia countered, her voice dripping with malice. “Emma, sit down. If not, we won’t support your struggling business.”
Emma’s reply was fiery. “I don’t need your help. Get lost!”
Bright and Perry exchanged disapproving glances, disappointed in Cynthia and Ken’s behavior.
Patrick stepped in, his voice calm and authoritative. “It’s okay. Just give me five minutes of your time, then you can go.”
