MY FIRST LOVE
EPISODE 5
WRITTEN BY RUKEVWE MERRY

Henry angrily left his mother’s presence, ignoring her desperate calls to return. He stormed out of the house and entered his car, starting the engine. Just as he was about to drive away, his father, Mr. Thompson, pulled up beside him.

“Henry, reverse and park. I need to talk to you,” Mr. Thompson said. Henry hesitated, then reversed and parked his car. “What’s wrong, son?” Mr. Thompson asked, noticing Henry’s frustration.

Henry explained, “Mom’s forcing me to marry Anita, claiming a promise and loan from Clara’s family.” Mr. Thompson’s expression turned serious. “Tell me everything.” Henry recounted his mother’s words. Then, he took a deep breath.

“Dad, I need to tell you something. I’m in love with Isabella.” Mr. Thompson’s eyebrows raised. “Which Isabella?” Henry coughed, nervous. “My nanny’s daughter.” To Henry’s surprise, his father’s face broke into a warm smile.

“Henry, that’s good! Isabella is a wonderful girl, well-cultured, well-mannered, and intelligent. She’s perfect for you, my dear.” Henry’s tension dissipated, replaced by relief. They entered the house, where Mrs. Thompson sat in the living room, her eyes flashing with anger.

Mr. Thompson’s face darkened. “You’ve l:ed, m-nipulated, and hurt our son enough. Henry’s in love with Isabella, and that’s what matters. Not your social status, not your pride, but our son’s happiness.” “I won’t stand for this hypocr*sy,” Mr. Thompson continued.

Mrs. Thompson protested, “The nanny’s daughter is not suitable! She’s a gold d-gger, trapping Henry with fรคke love.”

Mr. Thompson countered, “Who are you to judge class? When I married you, you were from a humble background. Did I judge you? No! I loved you for who you are. Don’t hypocr_tically judge Isabella. She’s intelligent, hardworking, and making a name for herself in our company.”

Mrs. Thompson stormed out, leaving the two men. Mr. Thompson reassured Henry, “Don’t worry, son. Your happiness matters. I support you and Isabella.” Henry’s heart swelled with gratitude. He rushed to the eatery where Isabella waited, her eyes sparkling with concern. “I’m so sorry I left you,” Henry said, embracing Isabella. “My dad believes in us. We have his blessing.” Isabella smiled. “I’m so happy!”

Henry took Isabella home, where Alice welcomed him with open arms. They shared a heartfelt moment, reconnecting after four years apart.

Henry revealed his truth: “Mom, I’m in love with Isabella, and I want to marry her.” Alice’s expression changed from joy to shock.

“That’s not possible! What will your family say? Your father has done so much for us.” Henry reassured her, “Dad already knows and accepts us.” Alice worried about Mrs. Thompson, but Henry said, “I’ll handle it.”

The next day, Henry visited his father, Mr. Thompson, to share Alice’s consent. Mrs. Thompson overheard, clapping sarcastically.

“Congratulations, she has secured a luxury life without lifting a finger,” Mrs. Thompson said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “Why would she not accept their relationship when she knows we’re wealthy?”

Mr. Thompson scolded, “Margaret, that’s enough. You’re being unfair and judgmental.” Mrs. Thompson retorted, “Unfair? You’re the one being blind, James. This gold digger has manipulated our son.”

Henry intervened, “Mom, that’s not true. Isabella loves me for who I am, not our wealth.”

Mrs. Thompson scoffed, “Save it, Henry. You’re naive.”

Mrs. Thompson’s anger boiled over. “I know what to do.” She stormed out of the house, leaving Henry and Mr. Thompson worried.

“Where is she going, Dad?” Henry asked, concerned.

Mr. Thompson shook his head. “I don’t know, son. But we’ll handle whatever comes next together.”

Unknown to Henry and Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Thompson headed to the office, determined to confront Isabella.

Later, Henry arrived at the office, coincidentally spotting his mother storming out. “Mom, what are you doing here?” Henry asked, surprised.

Instead of answering, Mrs. Thompson ignored him and hastily got into her car. Henry’s curiosity turned to concern as he watched her drive away.

Henry entered the office, finding a disturbing scene. Colleagues were snickering and whispering, while papers were scattered everywhere. Isabella sat at her desk, tears streaming down her face.

“Everyone, back to work!” Henry ordered, silencing the gossip. He rushed to Isabella’s side. “What happened?”

Isabella struggled to speak, still shaken. “Your mom… she came here, calling me a gold d+gger. She said awful things.” Henry’s face darkened with anger.

“Don’t worry, I’m here for you,” Henry reassured Isabella, wiping away her tears. “Stand up, my love. Let’s get out of here.”

Isabella nodded, still shaken. Henry took her hand, leading her out of the office.

They arrived at Isabella’s mother’s house, where Henry reassured her, “I’ll come pick you up later. We’ll face this together.”

After dropping Isabella off, Henry drove to his father’s house, determined to report his mother’s actions.

Upon arrival, Henry found his father, Mr. Thompson, and Mrs. Thompson (Margaret) in a heated conversation.

“I’ve dealt with Isabella,” Margaret said, her voice cold. “She’ll never go near our son again.”

Mr. Thompson’s expression turned stern. “What’s gotten over you, Margaret?”

Just then, Henry entered, his anger evident “Dad, Mom went to Isabella’s office, humiliated her in front of everyone.”

Margaret’s eyes flashed. “Keep quiet, Henry! Don’t mention that gold d_gger’s name again. If you choose her, consider me dรฉad.”

Henry’s face darkened. “Don’t talk about dรฉรกth, Mom.”

Margaret’s anger boiled over. She stormed to the kitchen, returning with a knife.

“Henry, choose between Isabella and me,” she spat, the knife hovering near her wrist.

Mr. Thompson intervened,”Margaret, stop! Don’t do this!”

Henry refused to choose. “I won’t play this game, Mom.”

Margaret’s eyes blazed. “Your silence means you choose Isabella.” She slit her wrist, and bl00d spilled.

Henry screamed, shocked. “Mom, no!”

Mr. Thompson rushed to his wife’s side. “Margaret, why?”

As they rushed her to the hospital, Henry’s world crumbled.
