Married to an unknown man
Episode 6
George came back on Saturday evening, we met that same evening
We got talking and he asked why I suddenly changed my mind, I told him it was nothing, there was no reason, since I promised that I’ll marry him, I will definitely marry him, he didn’t seem convinced but he had to drop the topic.
Even my boyfriend now ex, his name Jason didn’t stop calling or texting me, but my mind was already made up.
Sunday we went to church together, after service we went to his place, we played card games, truth or dare, rock paper scissors, it was fun, we cooked together and ate, I really enjoyed my stay there.
Then by evening we went to a birthday party, when we got there we met some of his friends, he introduced me to them as his fiancee, believe me I blushed.
All of them there were handsome and well to do.
When the party was going on I observed that a girl was looking at me with disdain, I didn’t even know her from anywhere.
Till I left there the kind of looks she was giving me were killer kinda look and it sent goosebumps on my skin
I didn’t bother telling George about her, the girl was the girlfriend of one of his friend.
He brought me home and left afterwards, We chatted on WhatsApp at night before I slept off.
The next morning we talked before I left for work.
By evening we discussed on how to go about our traditional wedding
We finally fixed a date, Thursday 14th was the day set for our traditional wedding then Easter Sunday 17 our church wedding, So we had just that week and some days to prepare for it.
My uncle informed the rest of my dad’s family, my mum informed her family, George also informed his family.
His sister came to see me and we clicked once, she’s older than me with 3 years, since I don’t have much friends she said her single friends can be on my bridal train
I already knew who my chief bridesmaid was going to be.
We talked about the color of material we were going to buy for the ashoebi and bridal train.
George sent me money to buy the materials I would love us to wear and the ones we will be sharing out to people to wear, even the ashoebi material, we will be giving all for free.
Only relative and close friends will be coming for our traditional wedding because it will be done in my village, my father’s compound. The next day his sister ( Comfort) and I went to Onitsha to get the Materials.
I knew George and I were becoming close. My Ex didn’t stop disturbing me to forgive him, I told him it was already too late.
When George called the next morning I told him about the girl that was looking at me strangely at the party on Sunday, he said the girl was the friend of his ex, the one that refused his ring and also his friend’s girlfriend maybe that was the reason she wasn’t happy with me, that was her problem.
I asked about his ex, he said he only got a message from her that same Sunday telling him that he was quick to move on, if he had loved her he would have begged her or given her time.
I laughed, cos she was actually crazy, since the day she rejected his ring she hasn’t called him.
My guess was that her friend told her that George was getting married to me.
I know she didn’t expect that it was going to be me.
It was her loss anyway, she threw him to me..so he is mine now, I don’t have plans of letting him go.
Wow….. I’m already claiming him already..
He’s going to be my husband soon so he’s mine, that was my thought.
We bought the materials and some other stuffs we needed and we came back.
