LOVE IN THE APARTMENT
EPISODE 1
Alex and Jamie had been living together in their cozy flat for over two years. They had a comfortable routine, sharing cooking duties, watching TV shows, and exploring the city together. But their harmonious life was about to be disrupted.
Jamie’s younger sister, Emily, was coming to stay with them for a few months while she finished her university studies. Alex had never met Emily before, but Jamie had told him stories about her quirky personality and determination.
Alex and Jamie had been waiting for what felt like an eternity for Jamie’s younger sister, Emily, to arrive. They had spent the morning lounging on the couch, engaged in a heated debate about the best pizza toppings.
“I’m telling you, Jamie, pineapple has no business being on a pizza,” Alex said, shaking his head.
Jamie chuckled. “You’re such a traditionalist, Alex. Pineapple adds a sweet and tangy flavor!”
Just as they were about to settle the argument, Jamie glanced at his watch. “Ah, Emily should be here any minute now. I hope she’s not late.”
Alex raised an eyebrow. “You’ve told me so much about her, I feel like I already know her. The quirky, determined, and charming Emily.”
Jamie grinned. “That’s my sister! You’ll love her.”
A few moments later, Alex excused himself to grab a coffee from the kitchen. As he poured the steaming hot brew into his favorite mug, he heard a knock at the door. Jamie jumped up to answer it, and Alex couldn’t help but feel a twinge of curiosity.
Jamie opened the door, and a bright smile illuminated the room. Emily walked in, her eyes sparkling with excitement, and flung her arms around Jamie’s neck.
“Hey, big bro!” she exclaimed, squeezing him tightly.
Jamie laughed and hugged her back. “Hey, little sis! Welcome to our humble abode.”
Just then, Alex walked out of the kitchen with his coffee in hand, and his eyes met Emily’s for the first time. But before he could even register her presence, disaster struck. Emily turned to drop her bag, but mistakenly swung it in Alex’s direction, hitting him squarely and causing his coffee to pour all over his shirt.
Alex’s eyes widened in shock, and he felt a surge of annoyance. But instead of Emily apologizing, she flared up.
“Why won’t you watch your steps? Couldn’t you see I was standing there?” she snapped, her eyes flashing with irritation.
Alex’s annoyance turned to indignation. “Excuse me? You’re the one who just spilled coffee all over me!”
The argument escalated until Jamie intervened, holding up his hands like a referee.
“Hey, guys, calm down! Emily, you just got here, just chill. Emily, this is my best friend and flatmate Alex. Alex, this is my little cute sister Emily – I told you about her already.”
Alex scoffed, “Cute indeed. She’s nowhere near cute but rude.”
Emily’s eyes widened in shock,
“What? What did you just say?” Emily asked, her eyes glaring at Alex, her face reddening with anger.
Jamie quickly dragged Emily away, “Let’s show you your room, sis. You must be exhausted from your trip.”
As they walked away, Alex hissed under his breath and stomped into his room, slamming the door behind him. He couldn’t believe the audacity of Jamie’s sister. Who did she think she was, anyway?
Meanwhile, Jamie was trying to calm Emily down, “Hey, sis, don’t mind Alex. He’s just a bit grumpy sometimes.”
Emily fumed, “Grumpy? That’s an understatement! He’s rude and arrogant!”
Jamie chuckled, “Well, you two are off to a great start, I see.”
As they settled Emily into her new room, Jamie couldn’t help but feel a sense of amusement at the sparks flying between Alex and his sister. He had a feeling this was going to be an interesting few months.
Later that evening, as they sat down for dinner, the tension between Alex and Emily was palpable. They barely spoke to each other, and when they did, it was with a hint of sarcasm and annoyance.
Jamie tried to keep the conversation light, but it was clear that Alex and Emily had gotten off on the wrong foot. As the night drew to a close, Alex excused himself, citing an early meeting the next day.
As he left the room, Emily turned to Jamie and whispered, “I don’t like him.”
Jamie smiled and whispered back, “Give him time, sis. He’s not so bad once you get to know him.”
But as Alex lay in bed, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that Emily was trouble with a capital T. And he was determined to keep his distance.
Little did he know, fate had other plans.
