πΉ ANDREW πΉ
Kate β‘ So detective, what is it you want to ask me about?
.
Andrew β‘ When Kevin broke up with you? How did you feel?
.
I watched closely to see Kate’s reaction to my question. She certainly wasn’t pleased but she didn’t make a big deal out of it. After a brief moment of silence, she smiled and then gave me a reply.
.
Kate β‘ Digging up the past won’t help you detective. Just do what you have to do and let me eat my dinner in peace.
.
Andrew β‘ What I can’t seem to understand is how you could easily go back to the man that broke your heart. You should have moved on but you didn’t and now that his wife is dead, you’re eager to take her place.
.
Kate β‘ As it should have been years ago. Kevin is mine now.
.
Andrew β‘ So let me guess? You got rid of Kevin’s wife to get what you want.
.
Kate β‘ Oh really? How’s that?
.
Andrew β‘ Well, here’s what I think. This lady stole your dream man but you did nothing not until you found out she was cheating so you decided to figure out a way to tell Kevin and…
.
Suddenly, a cold vicious laughter from Kate interrupted me before I could finish. I watched her silently wondering what part of my speech was funny.
.
Andrew β‘ Is something funny?
.
Kate β‘ (laughs) My God! Some detective you are. You know deep down that this is just stupid. If I found out that the bitch was cheating, why would I have to go through all that trouble to kill her? You better get your facts straight Mr. Detective.
.
Hearing Kate’s words made my skin crawl. To think that she’d be enjoying some else’s demise is way too cruel. I would like nothing more than to have her arrested but I’ve got nothing on her.
.
Andrew β‘ Something about you just doesn’t sit right.
.
Kate β‘ Oh really? Well, let me make it easy for you then. I hate Antonia and I’m glad that she’s dead. I hope she’s watching from her grave as I take her place. With that being said, I’m no killer. Whether you choose to believe me or not, that’s on you.
.
Andrew β‘ This isn’t over.
.
Kate β‘ Sure. Keep coming back with more of your assumptions on me. I’ll still be here.
.
Andrew β‘ Have a good night.
.
Kate β‘ You too.
.
After that, I stood up and left Kate’s house, entered my car and drove away into the night. I didn’t like how the way things ended with Kate but one thing was clear, she’s not the killer which means the real criminal is out there.
Whilst I was busy driving back home, I got a call from a strange number. At first, I didn’t want to answer it but eventually I did and what came next took me by shock.
.
Andrew β‘ Hello, who’s this?
.
Denise β‘ Hello Detective, this is Antonia’s sister. I was told you’re working on this case.
.
Andrew β‘ Yes I am. Is there anything I can help you with?
.
Denise β‘ I would like us to meet face to face Detective.
.
Andrew β‘ Well, it’s late. Why don’t we meet tomorrow?
.
Denise β‘ Sure thing. I’ll text you the time and place.
.
Andrew β‘ Alright then. Good night.
.
The next day arrived slower than I expected, I couldn’t get enough sleep cause my neighbors were busy making loud annoying sounds as they got laid. It was hard sleeping through all of that considering how long it has been since I had a woman to warm my bed.
Nevertheless, I got ready so as to meet up with this Denise lady so that I could find out why she wanted to see me. The location she texted me was her father’s house and by the time I got there, she received me in her compound and didn’t proceed to get me into the main house. I couldn’t help but notice that she was being cautious about something.
.
Denise β‘ Hello Detective, thanks for making it.
.
Andrew β‘ Sure thing. So why did you want to see me?
.
Denise β‘ I wanted to know how your investigation was going.
.
Andrew β‘ I’m not authorized to share that information with you.
.
Denise β‘ Okay but can I at least get something?
.
Andrew β‘ Well so far, there hasn’t been any leads showing us that your in-law is the killer.
.
Denise β‘ Damn it!!!
.
Andrew β‘ Is something wrong?
.
Denise β‘ There has to be something. I know Kevin killed my sister.
.
Andrew β‘ That’s not for you to decide.
.
Denise β‘ What happens if there is no evidence?
.
Andrew β‘ There won’t be any case.
.
Denise β‘ I can’t let that happen.
.
Andrew β‘ And why not?
.
Denise β‘ Look, I have a proposal for you. Do whatever it takes to pin something on Kevin and I’ll make you rich.
.
Andrew β‘ I beg your pardon? You want me to sabotage this case?
.
Denise β‘ If that’s what it takes, yes. My family’s reputation has been dragged through the mud, so it’s fitting if my in-laws share the same fate.
.
I couldn’t believe what this lady was saying. Here I thought thinking she was going to tell me something important but it turns out she just want her in-laws to take the fall as well. Here I thought Kate’s the worst female I’ve met.
.
Andrew β‘ I’m sorry but I can’t do this. This is wrong.
.
Denise β‘ Excuse me?
.
Andrew β‘ I said, this is wrong! I can’t accept your proposal. I’m trying to find who killed your sister and all you want is for your in-laws to eat dirt as well.
.
Denise β‘ What kind of detective are you? All you have to do is this small favor and you’re rich.
.
Andrew β‘ What’s the point of having riches if I get caught and sent to prison. What you’re asking me to do is wrong and it could cost me my livelihood. The risk is too great.
.
Denise β‘ So you won’t even consider it?
.
Andrew β‘ I’m afraid not. Have a good day.

πΉ RACHAELπΉ
I was hoping to get some fun on Kevin’s case but so far nothing interesting as happened. Based on Andrew’s investigation, there was no evidence on Kevin which mean that won’t be any court trial. Nothing thrills me more than a intense case argued over in court with each side bringing in the heat but now it seems like I won’t get to have the thrill on Kevin’s case especially since there’s no evidence against it.
Proving Kevin innocent is my top priority but I hate an easy win especially when it’s in a competitive world of male chauvinists who think they’re superior to women but with that being said, the case is not going anywhere and the only logical thing to do is to close it completely. Presently, as I was sitting in my office compiling some files, Detective Andrew showed up unexpectedly looking rather annoyed. At first, I thought he was going to complain about how twisted the case is but then what he said took me by surprise.
.
Rachael β‘ Detective Andrew. What a surprise.
.
Andrew β‘ Hello Rachael.
.
Rachael β‘ You seem off. Is it the case pissing you off again?
.
Andrew β‘ No. it’s something else.
.
Racheal β‘ Care to share?
.
Andrew β‘ It’s your client’s in-laws. His sister in-law wanted to bribe me to sabotage the investigation.
.
Rachael β‘ Let me guess. She offered you money?
.
Andrew β‘ Yes.
.
Rachael β‘ And what?
.
Andrew β‘ I turned it down of course.
.
Rachael β‘ You expect me to believe you.
.
Andrew β‘ I’m not corrupt.
.
Rachael β‘ (chuckles) Believe me, we all are. So any leads so far?
.
Andrew β‘ No. Still the same dead end. I interrogated Kate last night.
.
Rachael β‘ Kevin’s ex.
.
Andrew β‘ Yes but I think she’s not the killer.
.
Rachael β‘ What makes you say that?
.
Andrew β‘ Think about this for a second. Kate is the obvious suspect right but then there’s something else. Who told Kevin about his wife’s infidelity? Let’s say it’s Kate but why would she go through all that trouble to kill Antonia when she could have gotten rid of her easily.
.
Rachael β‘ So you’re saying there’s someone we don’t know about?
.
Andrew β‘ Not just someone. The killer, that’s who. He/she has a grudge on Antonia and they didn’t want to destroy her marriage, they wanted to just destroy her and they have.
.
Rachael β‘ So now what?
.
Andrew β‘ This is where you take over. Set up a court hearing to let this guy go but this case isn’t over.
.
Rachael β‘ What do you intend to do?
.
Andrew β‘ Follow this case from where it all began.
.
Rachael β‘ Where is that?
.
Andrew β‘ Kevin’s place of work.
.
Rachael β‘ But I thought you had checked there.
.
Andrew β‘ Not as much as I should have.
.
Rachael β‘ Alright then. Good luck.

π Writer’s POV π
Traumatized by the recent incident, Antonia’s bastard children were now confined in the walls of their grandfather’s house. With the latest controversy going on about their mom and the man whom they thought was their father, the children were ashamed of appearing in public.
Tony the eldest of the children who was more disturbed by this began to hate his late mother. Despite being a teenager, the 15yr old understood what was going on and resented the way his aunts were blaming everything on Kevin.
Presently as Tina and her daughters were busy discussing what Andrew had told Denise, Tony was busy listening to all they were saying and as soon as he had heard enough, the boy voiced out his thoughts challenging them indirectly.
.
Tina β‘ This can’t be happening. I can’t believe this case is going to end like this.
.
Denise β‘ We won’t let it end there mother. That bastard will not scale through.
.
Judith β‘ We have to find some other way to slam that murderer in prison.
.
Tony β‘ He did not kill mom.
.
Denise β‘ What?
.
Tony β‘ I said, he didn’t kill mom. Dad would never do that.
.
Tina β‘ Quiet there! That man is no your father.
.
Tony β‘ And who’s fault is it? Mom’s to blame. She’s the reason why we’re in this mess.
.
Judith β‘ How dare you blame your mother?
.
Tony β‘ Well, she’s not innocent. Why should I support her after what she’s done? She cheated on dad, plain and simple. Dad didn’t kill her. He would never do that.
.
Denise β‘ What has come over this boy? You should be ashamed of yourself.
.
Tony β‘ I already am and I regret being mom’s son.
.
Tina β‘ Wicked child. Shut your mouth.
.
Jonathan β‘ Don’t you dare raise your voice at that boy. Can you blame him for saying all of that? The shame should be upon you for backing up wrong doings.
.
Tina β‘ I will not let this boy turn his back on his mother.
.
Jonathan β‘ That’s her fault. If she had been loyal not of this would be happening. Antonia has not only brought shame upon her family but she also scarred the lives of these kids.
These kids have the right to be angry because they’re being dragged into something that’s not their fault. Your daughter has shamed us all and do you think people are supporting her? Look around and see. People are laughing at us. Mocking us. Do you think this is okay? From now on, I don’t want to hear any more conversation about this. Am I making myself clear? No more! I will not condone any more of this. Enough is enough.
