“JANET ” (part 1)

Janet flagged down a taxi along the road and bidded the market farewell; she had just come to town to spend sometime with her elder sister, Cecilia and gain some exposure aswell.
Indeed she was beautiful, light skinned and well shaped up. She could notice almost all the guys that passed by in the market, turned and looked back the second time in admiration. Even in the neighbourhood where her elder sister leaves, her beauty is talked about.
” I’ m liking the woman am becoming “, she muted to herself and smiled wittingly.
The taxi was’nt full, as they were only three; the taxi driver, herself and one other man. The driver was a bit frustrated because passengers are not forthcoming , she had imagined.
“let everybody carry his/her own cross anyway” she said to herself and looked away.
” are you from this town”? The man sitting beside Janet inquired.
She replied..
” No, i’m not, just came to town recently.
He nodded his head in affirmation and introduced himself as Smart, a dealer in electronics, creams, wristwatches and so on. Janet was’nt comfortable with his introductions as she looked away and became withdrawn.
” Do you have like #200 naira with you “, Smart asked Janet and she nodded her head in denial , she had enough money with her but cant imagine herself owning up to it.
Smart narrated his ordeal to Janet and the driver, “oga Dona”, as he fondly called by his colleagues. He had been duped earlier, the taxi he boarded earlier; the taxi man had made away with his balance as he had given the man a thousand naira(1000) and he drove off without returning his remaining balance and he is a bit stranded because his van loaded with wares got stucked somewhere in town and needed urgent attention.
He opened his bag and brought out a cream,wristwatch and an umbrella. He gave Janet the umbrella and handed the cream together with the wristwatch to oga Dona, the driver; a middle aged man.
Smart beckoned on the driver to drive slowly and follow his lead and drive to wherever he directed and oga Dona nodded his head in affirmation.
” we all need to swear an oath “, Smart opened and Janet asked..
“what oath”
“Anything i say you follow me and say” , i want to bless you people ” , smart commanded.
Janet was confused and likewise the driver, oga Dona. They have been hypothenised; Smart had given them those items and had explained that they were for promo in order to market his products and boost sales.
Smart is now in full control of Janet and oga Dona.
” who are you staying with”? Smart asked Janet
She replied..
“with my elder sister and her friend whom is squatting with her “.
” I need you guys to be very co-operative because you stand the chance of loosing your lives if you don’t “, he threatened and directed oga Dona to stop and he stopped abruptly.
