I MARRIED A DEVIL PART TWO
For years Dave blamed Sylvia for the loss of their baby boy. He made jest of her for being a careless and an incompetent nurse who could not even birth her own child successfully. The beatings increased and the womanizing didn’t stop but rather became worse.
During the period of waiting to get pregnant again,Dave got a promotion at work and had to travel to the USA,courtesy of the Company,and it took him 7 years to study abroad and left Sylvia to herself, and in order not to die of boredom,Sylvia applied for a scholarship in Canada and got it,she left for Canada for a 4 years course in S*x Selection (this is the training on how to chose if you would birth a boy or a girl child). After the four years course,Sylvia was offered an opportunity to stay back,work and get the opportunity to become a citizen of Canada with her family with a very high pay that will put Dave’s salary to shame but Dave insisted that she returned, as he couldn’t bear the thought of her being the bread winner or success bringer. Sylvia had no choice than to reject the offer and returned home.
By then, Dave’s seven years was up and he returned few months after Sylvia did from Canada. Luckily for Sylvia,she got a job with a Teaching Hospital and was earning well while trying to conceive. Dave would taunt her ceaselessly,called her a caricature nurse, an incompetent f.oo.l who could help women chose between bearing sons or daughters but can’t have any of hers. He stopped her from visiting her parents,cut her off from friends and siblings,he will monitor her and still pay menial workers at the hospital to trail her every step and keep him informed. Despite all this, Sylvia excelled at work and was being promoted steadily to the annoyance of Dave.
A ray of light shone on Sylvia one day when she discovered that her period was late and she had being feeling funny for days now. She got a pregnancy test strip from the first aid box in their bathroom and after Inserting it into her early morning urine,she couldn’t believe her eyes, lo and behold,2 red lines appeared on the strip,indicating that she was pregnant ๐๐๐ Sylvia was over the moon with happiness,she thought within herself that maybe with this,Dave would love her again and give her the joy that she deserves. Truly Dave was happy, but him being a devil incarnate had other plans in mind. He thought this was an opportunity to stop her from working and reduce her to a nobody.
