Heartbreak Final chapter.
Our love grew day by day. Catherine was everything I wanted in a woman. She did everything possible to make me forget my wife Nancy.
She was a good woman.
The day Nancy called my wife called me, I ended the call because of how furious I was.
I refused to pick the call because of what Frank told me about her.
She called for more than one week till she stopped calling. I guess she became fed up with my attitude. I was on my bed one day when a text message popped up….
“Emmy, why have you refused to pick my calls? What did I do wrong? Have you gotten another woman over there?”
It was from my wife.
I read the message over and over again before I deleted it. I didn’t want Catherine to see the message and get angry with me.
My heart was beating for Catherine.
After that message, my wife stopped calling. I called Frank and told him how I’ve found another lady over there and he was so happy for me.
“Emeka, I am so happy for you. Thank God you’re saved from that your wife. She is still going out with different mén”
“Really”, I quizzed.
“You deserve better. Forget about her and move on with your life”
I thanked Frank for helping me and saving me from Nancy my wife. My ha.tréd for Nancy grew worse.
I continued my affair with Nancy till I was told that the program was just remaining one week before we head back.
I wasn’t happy. I wanted to stay longer with Catherine and she wanted same.
We were on bed one night about to sleep when Catherine broke the news to me….
“Emmy, I am pr.egnant for you”, she smiled and showed me the test result.
I was overjoyed. I couldn’t contain my joy when she also told me that she would be going back to Nig.eria with me.
I was so excited.
After the one week elapsed, I went back with Catherine to Nigeria but I got a news that broke and shattered me into pieces.
I was told that my friend, Frank, got married to my wife Nancy last two months. It was unbelievable.
I quickly went to Frank’s house to confirm my fears. When i got there and knocked on the door, my wife came out and opened the door.
“Nancy, what are you doing in Frank’s house?”
“Please don’t tell me that nø.nsense. Frank told me everything about your new wife. He told and showed me the new pictures you snapped with your new wife”
I was transfixed.
I was still wiping my eyes to confirm if I was dreaming when Frank stepped outside…
“Eeeehn, what are you doing in my house?”
“Frank, Frank, what are you doing with my wife? I don’t understand what’s happening”
He cuts in…
“Please, don’t pretend. You stole Nancy from me after our graduation and got married to her. I swore to fight for my Nancy no matter how long it would take me”
“But Frank, did you ever tell me that you were in love with Nancy before I got married to her”, I asked with tears in my eyes.
“It doesn’t matter anymore. What matters is that I am married to Nancy now and she’s pregnant with my child”
“Your child!!!!!! How come?”
“Please go back to your new wife and leave us alone. I am sorry for tricking you. I did everything to make her leave you but she couldn’t and that was why I decided to do what I did. It was when I showed her your pictures with the new lady that she agreed to Marry me”
“Frank, how could you?”
I was about to fight him but his bodyguard grabbed me and threw me out of his compound….
I’ve lost my wife, Nancy….
Oh! Nancy.
