NLNG is dedicated to fostering an inclusive scholarship program and actively encourages applications from all eligible indigenes of its host communities, including Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).
Requirements / Eligibility
- Must be a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and an indigene of any of the NLNG’s Host Communities.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Nigerian federal or state-owned university for an undergraduate program.
- Must possess at least five O-Level credits including Mathematics and English, in WASC, SSCE or NECO in ONE sitting.
- Must have scored a minimum of 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Must be a certified full-time student of a Nigerian federal or state-owned university, currently admitted to study Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, Environmental, or Geo-science courses.
- Must have consistently maintained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) in every academic year prior to
- applying for UGSS Special Edition and must continue to meet this standard throughout the scholarship period.
- Must be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application.
- Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant from any other organization.
- Must NOT be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relation of staff of NLNG.
- Must provide a valid identification letter from the applicable host community and Local Government Council.
How To Apply
1. You are to apply using your registered Email address and Mobile number
2. Ensure you have clear scanned copies of the following documents for upload:
a. Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px not more than 200kb)
b. O-Level and UTME results
c. University and JAMB Admission letter
d. University student ID card
e. National Population Commission Issued Birth certificate
f. Local Government Area (LGA) letter of identification
g. National ID Number (NIN) Slip
h. Complete academic transcripts from 100 level to the most recent academic year, signed and stamped by the university’s registry, exams unit, or the appropriate authority.
i. Community letter of identification signed by a Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman or paramount ruler/king.
3. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents
4. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload
To apply, follow the steps below:
a. Click on “Register” to create an account using your email address.
b. Proceed to your email box to activate your account
c. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.
d. Enter your personal information, educational information, other information and upload required scanned documents.
e. Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in same order.
f. Ensure you view all documents after uploading, to eliminate errors during uploading.
g. When asked to upload photo, upload a pass-port photograph with a white background.
h. Recheck application information to avoid errors Click on candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/NLNGUGSSH to return to the application site
i. Click “Apply Now” to submit information
j. You will receive an email that confirms your application was successful.
Please take note of the following:
It is important that you should create a UNIQUE scholastica account using YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL. Do not use an email that is not yours, or belongs to someone else to create an account, (even if the person is a sibling or relative).
Do not use SOMEONE ELSE’S scholastica account for this records update
