The exchange of gun fire, and the results of the aftermath of the cartel’s operation drew the attention of the state security agencies. The streets swamped with heavy presence of security officials, with the aim deciphering what had just happened, and the cause of the exchange of heavy gun fire and dead bodies lying across the streets.
But the tides turned against them as they were unable to provide answers to the masses and bring the perpetrators to justice. But one thing the police knew was that the operation and blood shed was tied to a cartel’s operation, here comes the big question that threw them of balance, and that was ” which cartel was responsible for the operation?
The situation was pressing and one the officials couldn’t overlook, fearing the city might become a war zones for the cartels whenever they decided to avenge the deaths of their members, the police knew that any formal investigation carried out will turn out futile,so inorder to get the answers to the questions they seeked,they needed to go undercover.
The inspector General of police Muhammad Sanusi placed, Kingsley a junior police officer in charge of the investigative committee, because he knew Kingsley’s twin brother to be a rogue of the first order, and believed that he might be affiliated to the cartels responsible for the shootout.
At first Kingsley was reluctant in taking the position as head of the operation, but knowing he was indebted to the Inspector General who had saved his brother from receiving a capital punishment for a crime he committed some years back,he was left with no choice than to accept the position and lead the operation.
This was not the first time Kingsley had to play a role he never wanted to get involved in because of his brother. And whenever this occurred,it hurt deeply.
Kingsley couldn’t not understand why his brother Samuel choose a life of crime after the death of their parents in a fatal motor accident. Samuel, Kingsley’s brother was a good and bright kid in school, but after their parent’s passing, everything changed. Kingsley continued in the Godly pattern his parents had thought them but Samuel on the other end, choose to drop out of school and embraced a life of crime. His diversion from being a cool kid to one of the most famous and notorious gangster in town,was unprecedented.
A person who knew Samuel growing up would vow that he would never indulge in crimes because,he was so cool, loving, intelligent and disciplined when growing up, but the hands of time changed everything.
Despite being a criminal and a societal write-off, Kingsley loved his brother dearly, Samuel’s detestful lifestyle never broke the bond between the twin brothers, and even if everything went against the tide, Kingsley was grateful to have a brother who was a gangster because, he had saved his life numerous times by giving out vital informations on where to be and where not to be at a given period of time. Infact Kingsley promotion came as a result of the information Samuel gave him. “The location of the most wanted and notorious criminal’s hideout at the time. Since the wanted criminal was a member of a rival cartel, Samuel was comfortable selling him out to the police through his brother. And it was the capture and extermination of this notorious criminal that led to Kingsley’s promotion.
Kingsley decided to inform his brother Samuel about the situation on ground, and after reassuring him of the love he had for him, he asked if Samuel knew anything about the matter, promising him that if he was involved, he would ensure that he goes scout free from any aligation affiliated to his name.
Samuel had come to love and trust his brother because, he had saved him from jail sentences countless times. And even if crimals and police never dined together, Samuel was comfortable letting out vital informations about certain cartel’s operation to him because he trusted his brother.
And because Kingsley’s advice allowed him to choose his operational route carefully. By helping themselves in this manner, the two brothers were able to evade losses on both sides. So it was always a win,win deal on both sides.
A win for the police on Kingsley’s side and a win on Samuel’s side and his criminal gang by knowing where and where to rob at a given time.
From the information Samuel provided, Kingsley was able to decipher the gangs affiliated with the operation. It was a clash of interest between the “Daylight(DL) ” and “The Blood Brothers (TBB)”
The information provided gave Kingsley an insight into the cartel’s bitterness that led to the blood bath. The Daylight (DL) had captured a girl named Anita, believed to be a specimen embodied with the power of immortality,it was believed that he had been alive since the eighteen hundred’s and had refused to anti age overtime.
One of the key speculation that captured Kingsley’s attention was that,the daylight had captured the girl with the aim of trading her for a sum of hundred million dollars to one of the world’s biggest and richest laboratories situated in the United States for research purposes, but after doing all the dirty work of tracking the girl for years, when they were about reaping the fruit of their labour,they were attacked by their sworn enemies,” The Blood Brothers” ( TBB) and their price stolen from them.
With this information, Kingsley and the police had a lead in the operation. Kingsley was grateful that his brother Samuel,was not affiliated to the operation,so he and his team set out to deal with the criminal ruthlessly, and save the poor girl from becoming a laboratory rat. To be continued.
