A LOVE TRIANGLE
Episode 7
The holidays were finally here, and Annabel couldn’t be more happier. She and Sophia packed their suitcases, chatting excitedly about their plans for the break. Sophia looked happy, but Annabel knew she would miss her roomie.
After packing, they walked out of their dorm, and Sophia’s driver was already waiting for her. She offered to drop Annabel at the bus station, and Annabel agreed. They chatted till they got to the bus station, reminiscing about their time together and making plans for when they returned to school.
As they bade each other goodbye, promising to call every day, Annabel boarded her bus and relaxed back into her seat. She thought about her parents and couldn’t wait to see them. Then, she remembered Kamzy, and her heart skipped a beat. She wondered if he had gone home too.
Annabel sighed and plugged her earphones into her phone, enjoying the music as the bus rode on. A few hours later, she arrived home, feeling a mix of excitement and relief.
Her parents were waiting at the door, big smiles on their faces. They hugged her tightly, asking about her semester and listening intently as she told them about her classes and friends.
Annabel spent the next few days relaxing at home, enjoying her mom’s cooking and her dad’s jokes. She helped with household chores and spent time with her siblings, feeling like she was a part of the family again.
On the third day, Annabel’s friends from her old school came over, and they spent the day catching up and laughing together. They talked about their plans for the future, their dreams and aspirations.
As the days went by, Annabel felt herself unwinding, letting go of the stress and anxiety of school. She realized that she had been living in a bubble, focused solely on her studies and avoiding Titi.
But now, she was home, surrounded by people who loved her, and she felt free.
Annabel’s parents asked her about school, but she avoided talking about Titi and the bullying. She didn’t want to worry them or ruin her holiday.
Instead, she focused on the positive, telling them about Sophia and about her classes and her favorite teachers. They were very happy to see her .
Annabel woke up every morning to the sound of birds chirping outside her window. She stretched and yawned, feeling refreshed after a good night’s sleep. Her holidays were going great so far.
She spent her days helping her mom at their small shop, learning the ins and outs of the business. She also did her fair share of household chores, making sure to contribute to the family.
In the afternoons, Annabel spent time with her brother, playing games or watching movies together. They laughed and joked, enjoying each other’s company.
One day, as Annabel was relaxing in her room, she got a call. She checked the screen and smiled – it was Sophia! She was happy to hear from her friend.
“Hey, girl! How’s it going?” Sophia asked, her voice cheerful.
Annabel settled into her bed, getting comfortable. “It’s going great, Sophia. Just helping out at home and spending time with my family. How about you?”
Sophia talked about her music, her passion shining through. Annabel listened intently, asking questions and offering support.
As they chatted, Annabel felt grateful for their friendship. Sophia was more than just a roomie – she was a true friend.
After chatting for a long time, they bade each other good night and ended the call. Annabel smiled, feeling happy and content.
As she hung up the call with Sophia, Annabel’s phone rang again. She thought Sophia had forgotten to tell her something, so she picked up her phone reluctantly.
But to her surprise, it was a new number. She hesitated for a moment before answering, “Hello?”
A male voice responded, “Hi, it’s Kamzy.”
Annabel’s heart skipped a beat as she processed who was on the other end of the call. “How did you get my number?” she asked, trying to sound calm.
“Oh, your roomie gave it to me,” Kamzy replied nonchalantly.
Annabel’s eyes widened in surprise. “Oh,” she mouthed, wondering why Sophia would give Kamzy her number without asking her first.
“Hey, I just called to check on you. I hope you’re okay?” Kamzy asked, his voice sincere.
Annabel’s heart was still racing from the surprise of the call. “Yes, I’m fine,” she replied, trying to sound casual.
There was a silence on the other end of the call before Kamzy spoke up again. “Can I see you?” he asked, his voice low and gentle.
Annabel was taken aback by the request. She hadn’t expected Kamzy to ask to see her, especially not during the holidays. “I…I don’t know,” she stuttered, unsure of what to say.
Kamzy didn’t pressure her, but Annabel could sense his eagerness. “Please, Annabel. I just want to make sure you’re okay. We can meet up somewhere, just as friends.”
Annabel hesitated, her mind racing with thoughts. She didn’t know if she was ready to see Kamzy, especially not after everything that had happened. But a part of her wanted to see him, to know that he was okay too.
Annabel gave Kamzy her address, knowing that her part of town was very far from his. But he insisted on coming to see her, saying that he didn’t mind the distance.
“Are you sure?” Annabel asked, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
“Yes, I’m positive,” Kamzy replied. “I’ll be there tomorrow afternoon. Is that okay with you?”
Annabel hesitated for a moment before agreeing. “Okay, tomorrow afternoon is fine.”
As they ended the call, Annabel couldn’t help but wonder why Kamzy was going out of his way to see her. Was it just friendship, or was there something more?
The next day, Annabel found herself getting ready for Kamzy’s visit. She took extra care with her appearance, trying to look casual yet presentable.
As she waited for Kamzy to arrive, Annabel’s heart raced with anticipation. She hadn’t expected to see him during the holidays, and now that he was coming to her house, she felt a mix of emotions.
When Kamzy finally arrived, Annabel’s heart skipped a beat. He looked even more handsome than she remembered, and his smile lit up the entire room.
“Hey,” he said, walking into her living room. “You look great, Annabel.”
Annabel blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. “Thanks, Kamzy. You look great too.”
As they sat down to talk, Annabel realized that she had missed Kamzy more than she thought. They chatted about everything and nothing, laughing and joking like old friends.
But beneath the surface, Annabel sensed a deeper connection between them. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but she knew that something had shifted.
As they chatted, Annabel’s mum walked into the living room, and Annabel felt a bit embarrassed. She had never had male friends before, and she wasn’t sure how her mum would react.
But to her surprise, her mum smiled warmly at Kamzy as he stood up to greet her. Annabel introduced them, feeling a bit nervous.
Her mum offered to get them a drink, but Kamzy declined gently. She nodded and left them alone, but not before giving Annabel a curious glance.
As they talked, Annabel felt shy under Kamzy’s gaze. She couldn’t believe how much she enjoyed his company.
When it was time for him to leave, Annabel walked him outside. Kamzy turned to her and said, “I had fun spending time with you, Annabel. And you look very beautiful today.”
Annabel blushed and thanked him, feeling a flutter in her chest. Kamzy waved goodbye and got into his car, and his driver drove off.
Annabel smiled to herself, feeling happy and content. But as she turned to go inside, she saw her mum peeping from the window, a knowing glint in her eye, she entered inside the house,
Her mum dragged her to the chair, asking her who Kamzy was. Annabel explained, and her mum said he seemed like a nice guy.
Annabel blushed and said, “Mum, we’re just friends! Ewww!”
She stood up and ran to her room, feeling a bit embarrassed. But as she lay in bed, she couldn’t stop thinking about Kamzy.
She drifted off to sleep with a smile on her face, wondering what the future held for them……..
