If you love UNO, and have very specific opinions on whether you can end on a Draw Four card – look no further than this job listing for your next gig.
Toy company Mattel – which is also behind brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels – is on the lookout for a ‘Chief UNO Player’ for a month – and it could earn you $4,444 per week.
The job, based in New York City, would see the successful applicant ‘help create and star in social content’ for the infamous card game.
The stint is to help with promotion for a new iteration of the party classic.
‘We’re bringing the unpredictable, friendship-building (or destroying) fun of UNO games to life in a whole new way with our UNO Quatro family game—a classic four-in-a-row challenge with a twist—and we need your help to get the word out,’ a listing on the website said.
‘We’re looking for someone who’s just as passionate about throwing down a Draw 4 as they are engaging strangers in a game.
‘Someone who knows how to play a reverse and likes to get WILD (in a nice-ish way). Is that you?’
The Chief Player must be able to work in NYC four days a week and for four hours each day, from 2pm – 6pm; and they must be available for four consecutive weeks from September to October, although ‘dates and times are subject to change’.
The job description also noted that the applicant ‘must be comfortable with interviews and appearances’.
Other duties would include starring in live streams to play the UNO Quatro game with brand creators, asking strangers to take part, teaching them the game and getting them involved ‘in an engaging way’.
And it looks like there is a physical element to the tasks.
The player ‘must be able to sit for long periods, lift and carry 50 lbs., and set up playing tables and tents on location’.
Amid other caveats, the job listing specifies applicants must be over 18 years old, and be a US citizen/ permanent resident or be based in the US.
To apply, you have to stitch a TikTok video from the company, answering the below four questions.
These are: what’s your best memory playing UNO, what’s your best Reverse Card moment, why shouldn’t they skip you as the Chief UNO player and what’s your favorite version of UNO.
‘Submit your video by August 10th at 11:59 PM PST and check out the link in our bio for more information,’ the clip’s caption instructs.
