Change of rules Episode 20

*EPISODE 20*
((CHANGE OF RULES))

flashback.

Since it was obvious that Adekunle Lawan would one day want to harm Abeni, Bayo came up with the idea of getting Abeni hospitalized and blaming it on Adekunle Lawan.

Through Oye, they met with the doctor whom they told that they were making a movie. And so they pleaded with him to permit them to film a hospital bed scene in his hospital.

The doctor later agreed and named his price, thinking they were actually making a movie.

Immediately, the doctor agreed, Bayo quickly contacted a special effects makeup artist (sfx), who used makeup and prosthetics to make wounds and swelling on Abeni’s face. The makeup artist did an amazing job that made it difficult for anyone to easily tell that Abeni’s bruises, wounds, and swelling were fake.

And as for the money that suddenly disappeared from Chief’s bank account, Bayo and Abeni knew the banks where Chief Afolabi usually keeps all the money from his illegal drug sales and other businesses.

Because he had hundreds of bank accounts that were mainly used to secure stolen funds for politicians. But in all these, he had two special bank accounts where his personal life savings and business profits were kept.

“How do we access his two bank accounts if we don’t have his PIN and other personal banking information?” Abeni asked.

“Even if we have it, do you think we can get away with stealing all of Chief Afolabi’s money? One way or another, we could get caught. Because this is his life savings we are talking about here.”‘ Oye said, looking scared.

“Not if he made the transaction himself. Also, the money will not go to any account in this country. Therefore, it will be very difficult to track or trace the persons involved,” Bayo said.

“So, which account is it going to?” Abeni asked.

“A friend of mine in the States will keep it safe in his dollar accounts until we’re done with this operation. And besides, the method we’re going to use will make tracking very difficult,” Bayo said.

“And what method are you talking about?” Oye asked.

“We will use a keylogger malware to implement our plans,” Bayo said.

“Keylogger Malware?.” Oye asked totally confused.

“What is that?.” Abeni asked, also looking lost.

“Well, apart from selling illegal drugs and seducing rich men’s daughters and wives, Chief Afolabi has also exposed me to cyber fraud. And that’s when I discovered keylogger malware which helped me to gain unauthorized access to information or systems in a person’s computer system or cell phone,” Bayo said.

“Wow!.” Oye said with shock on her face.

“Incredible,” Abeni said in disbelief.

“Keyloggers are one of the most dangerous types of malware out there. Because keyloggers hide on your device, capture all your keystrokes which includes your passwords, usernames, private messages, and bank account details. They record everything you type, every site you log into, your email, your transactions and send them back to the hacker who injected the malware into your device,” Bayo revealed.

“This is serious,” Oye said still unable to believe her ears.

“So how do we inject this keylogger malware?” Abeni asked.

“It’s easy. Since we’re going to be using a hardware-based keylogger, we need to have physical access to the device. We need to go to his office and hide the hardware behind his desktop PC tower or somewhere else he’s unlikely to look at,” Bayo said.

“So this keylogger can’t be detected?” Abeni asked.

“Hardware keyloggers are usually difficult to detect with antivirus software. So it won’t be that easy.” Bayo said.

“Hmmm.” Abeni sighed deeply.

“And don’t worry about who’s going to insert it. Cause I’m doing this myself.” Bayo said with a mischievous smile.

Early the next day, Bayo arrived at work before Chief Afolabi and his secretary. And without hesitation, he quickly walked into Chief Afolabi’s office and plugged an AirDrive USB keylogger into the back of his desktop PC tower.

This allowed him to monitor all of Chief Afolabi’s transactions which enabled him to hack into his account. thereby, clearing everything inside. And as he did so, he felt so good using what Chief Afolabi had taught him against him.

Present day.

Chief Afolabi drove to Adekunle Lawan’s home where they had a heated argument.

“Where is he? Where’s that idiot that calls himself a man?” He shouted storming out of his car.

As soon as he barged into the living room and saw Adekunle Lawan sitting on his couch, his anger rose to a higher level.

“How dare you hurt my daughter? Wasn’t it enough that your useless swine of a son raped her? How dare you, Adekunle Lawan?. How dare you put my daughter in such a miserable condition?.” Chief Afolabi shouted at Adekunle Lawan.

“Wow. So Nemesis finally caught up with your scumbag?. This clearly shows that even in death my Gerald is not a weakling. Chief Afolabi, you haven’t seen anything yet. By the time I and Karma Are done dealing with you, I assure you that you will have no place to hide your face. And by the way, who gave you the bravery to barge into my house like that?” Adekunle Lawan fumed.

“What house are you talking about?. You call this a house?. This stinking, Godforsaken cave a house?. Listen, Adekunle Lawan, just pray that nothing happens to my daughter. And also pray that I get to recover the money you stole from my account. Otherwise, heads will roll and blood will flow. Adekunle Lawan you are pushing me so hard and I won’t hesitate to show you what I’m made of.” Chief Afolabi threatened.

Hearing this, Adekunle Lawan burst into laughter annoyingly clapping his hands.

“Look at who is threatening me. Aren’t you the same Afolabi I picked off the street years ago?. You are nothing but an idiot who has bitten the finger that fed him. And I am sorry to disappoint you. Because there is nothing. Absolutely nothing you can do to me. Try me and you will have yourself to blame.” Adekunle Lawan said.

“So it’s true?. Judging from how you didn’t deny any of these allegations, I’m now certain that you were the one behind all of this” Chief Afolabi said, with his heart, boiling with anger.

“I don’t have to be behind everything that is happening to you when karma is already fighting for me. Look, Chief Afolabi. All this is what you get when you try to outsmart and bite the finger that fed you. And one more thing, I think you should start warming up to spending the rest of your life in prison after possibly losing everything you own. Remember I told you that if my son goes down then you should be ready to go down with him. You made him lose the election and you took his life as well. So get ready to lose everything you’ve worked hard for all these years. And read my lips, Afolabi. You can’t do anything to me cause you will always remain my puppet.” Adekunle Lawan said with a smile.

This made Chief Afolabi so angry that he clenched his fist so tightly. Stepping out of Adekunle Lawan’s house, he became convinced that he had been the one behind all of his recent predicaments, as he didn’t deny any of them.

Meanwhile, back inside, Adekunle Lawan began to think about what Chief Afolabi had said.

“I don’t remember going after his daughter or taking any money from his account. So what was he talking about? And why does it feel like someone’s playing the middleman game with us? Is there any politician planning all of this behind the scenes?” He wondered deeply.

Driving back to the hospital, Chief Afolabi was confused to find Bayo outside crying.

“Bayo?” he called out totally confused. “What’s the matter? And why are you crying?” Chief Afolabi asked.

“It’s Abeni, sir,” Bayo cried.

“What about her?.” Chief Afolabi asked.

“She is dead…..” Bayo cried out falling at the feet of Chief Afolabi.

When Chief Afolabi heard that, he couldn’t believe his ears. With pain and shock in his heart, he took a few steps back.

“No. This isn’t happening to me,” he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.

He quickly rushed into the hospital, right in Abeni’s ward. But he was surprised not to have seen her body.

“Where is my child?” he asked, turning to Bayo, who followed after him as soon as he rushed to the hospital.

“I’m sorry, Chief. It was Abeni’s last wish that I deposit her body in the mortuary as soon as she dies. She said you don’t deserve to see her lifeless body on the hospital bed. Because you failed her both in life and in death. And she also told me not to disclose the mortuary to you until you’ve avenged her death on Adekunle Lawan.” Bayo said crying.

“Oh dear God.” Chief Afolabi whimpered, covering his mouth with his palms. With tears streaming down his cheeks, he backed away until his back was against the wall. He couldn’t explain what he was feeling at that moment because the pain and sadness in his heart were indescribable.

He slowly walked out of the hospital and drove back to his home, where locked himself in and drank for days.

“Are you sure you’re okay with what we are doing to your father? I mean, by the look of things, it seems like he really loves you.” Oye asked Abeni three days later.

“I love him too. And I believe this is the only way to get him to appreciate the importance of life and family. If he doesn’t go through such pain, he won’t be able to understand the kind of pain other people feel when he takes their loved ones away from them. So for me, the best form of love that I can give to my father right now is to put him on the right track and help him realize and pay for his crimes,” Abeni said.

Hearing this, Oye rubbed her back with her hand to comfort her.

“Hmmm” Oye sighed. “So now we’re both ghosts?. Well, I’m so glad to meet you junior ghost Abeni.” Oye teased and they both burst out laughing.

Meanwhile, Bayo, who was standing behind them, couldn’t help but smile.

The next day which made it four days after Abeni’s faked death, Ahmed contacted Chief Afolabi and told him that Gerald’s death had nothing to do with anyone.

Hearing this, Chief Afolabi gathered the strength to face Adekunle Lawan one last time.

“This time around, it’s either he dies or I die. Because one thing is for sure. And that is that someone has to die tonight.” Chief Afolabi said, after which, he sipped the last drop of alcoholic wine in his glass cup.

He quickly picked up his phone and dialed Kunle’s number.

“Greetings boss.” Kunle greeted.

“Greetings, Kunle. Go and arrange some boys for me. Cause tonight, we are going to send someone to the afterlife.” He said.
