SISTER ADURAGBEMI
Part 21
By Authoress Rhoda.
Sade felt like returning to her sister’s hostel, but the guilt growing inside of her wouldn’t permit.
She begged a particular friend of hers to accommodate her just for the night, but she turned her down.
She didn’t argue further because she felt her friend needed privacy at that moment. She reached out to another friend of hers, just to accommodate her for the night, she as well turned her down politely.
She became confused.
“What is wrong? Something must be wrong somewhere.” She said to herself.
Those friends were her intimate friends. What made them to turn her down at the same time was quite difficult for her to fathom, because it was unusual.
As she was walking down the street to an unknown destination, she met three ladies on the way.
Well, she was at their back. They didn’t know that someone was coming behind them.
The ladies were busy gossiping about the latest news.
“Kayode, see her picture.” One of the ladies said excitedly. The two other ladies rushed to see the picture.
“Oh, is this not Sade in Biochemistry department?” One of them asked, trying to confirm what she saw.
The moment Sade heard her name, she became more sensitive to get the full gist.
“Me?” Sade asked herself quietly.
“Yes, she is the one. See the way the girl is trending. Her ex- boyfriend painted her black and blue on social media.” The other replied.
“Run away from the lady called Sade. She is a snatcher. She can snatch your boyfriend. She can snatch any good thing you have. She is a devil. She is a betrayer. Run from her!!!” Another lady read out .
It was as if the ground should swallow her up, but Courage came from no where.
“Hey girls, can I be your friend?” She asked them after exchanging pleasantries.
They were happy someone wanted to join them.
They welcomed her and began to talk as they were walking to their respective hostels, although Sade had no where in mind to go to.
“I heard about the news you ladies were talking about. Can I see the pictures of that lady.” Sade asked.
One of them brought out her phone and handed it over to Sade.
Sade couldn’t believe her eyes that her reputation was tarnished. She felt like breaking down in tears, but she refrained herself in order to get the full gist from those ladies.
One of them suddenly switched on her touch when mosquito ๐ฆ kissed her hand. She was still trying to find the mosquito when she mistakenly pointed the touch at Sade’s direction.
The moment the touch penetrated into Sade’s eyes, they ran away. She ran after them trying to convince them that she wasn’t a bad person.
“Husband snatcher! Betrayer!!!!” One of them shouted as they ran away.
They never knew she had been the one in their midst.
She was seen as a witch.
She cried and cried and cried.
She felt like committed suicide. Her image was tarnished. She couldn’t walk freely because all eyes were on her.
She managed to get a place to sleep that night. The following morning, the thought of how to move without being pointed at almost made her to kill herself.
She encouraged herself and walked down to class. In the class, she was mocked. She couldn’t lift her head up because of shame.
Immediately the class was over, she left the theater room for a change of environment.
As she was about leaving, she heard her sister calling her.
She looked back only to meet Aduragbemi with another handsome man.
The problem on her head at the moment couldn’t allow her to process how handsome the guy was in her mind.
She hugged her sister and apologized deeply for betraying her. She shed tears till tears stopped coming from her eyes.
They reconciled.
They went back home together as biological sisters.
Although, Aduragbemi was very careful with her sister, but she knew her sister had changed for good.
That night, the way her sister accommodated her back into the room broke her down. Despite all she had caused her. Despite all she made her sister to pass through, she still accepted her back without reminding her of those atrocities she had committed.
As she was still shedding those tears, she remembered her lover. She remembered the lover she rejected some years ago.
Her lover kept on whispering to her to come back home. Her lover kept on disturbing her to re-consider the love they both share.
It became so strong that Sade couldn’t bear it.
She broke down and fell on her knees.
“Jes—uuuu–sss, my lover! I am sorry for leaving you. I am sorry for disappointing you. I am sorry for deviating from you. Now, my life is battered. I am broken in pieces because I left your presence. Jesus, have mercy on me. Have mercy!!!!!! The whole world has rejected and despised me. The whole world has forsaken me. Jesus, don’t forsake me. I have no other place to go to if you forsake me. I am finished if you finally leave me. Jesus, your mercy is all I ask. Have mercy on me. Forgive me all my sins. Accept me back Jesus. I am now ready to be controlled by you and not by my flesh. Jesus, have mercy on me.” Sade cried.
After praying for more than 30 minutes, she had unspeakable joy. Her sins were forgiven. She just couldn’t explain what she felt.
Her sister was happy for her. She even prayer with her.
That midnight, Sade sent a message to Lanre and everyone she had offended. She made her way right before everyone she had offended.
When people kept on dragging her past, she felt peace. She wasn’t moved. When they noticed that Sade wasn’t moved by the dirty news about her flying around, everything died a natural death.
Lanre was surprised at the latest development in Sade’s life.

“Sure, we can be friends.” Adura answered Timothy.
Adura and Timothy became intimate friends. They couldn’t do without calling each other a day.
Sade was happy when she noticed that her sister was seeing someone, but within her, she knew that Timothy wasn’t really in love with her sister.
She knelt and prayed fervently to God about the matter. She prayer to God to reveal the heart of a man that is desperately wicked to her.
And God did.
She tried talking to her sister about the revelation she had about Timothy, but her sister wasn’t giving her a listening ear. She felt Sade was up to the task of betraying her once again.
Sade couldn’t do anything apart from interceding for her sister.

“Adura, I want to tell you something.” Timothy announced one afternoon.
Adura stopped what she was doing to listen attentively to her boyfriend
“Adura, I want you to know that out of millions of ladies on earth, I decided to choose you. I didn’t choose you because you are the most beautiful woman on earth. I chose you because you are the weakest woman I have ever seen. I noticed you don’t have any friend, I stepped in to be a friend to you. I noticed you are always alone, I came into your life to fill that vacuum. I came into your life to be a companion to you. I try as much as possible to make you smile.
Well, it is not at if I don’t have millions of ladies who will fall in love with me immediately, but I chose you. You know why?
The reason is that, if I don’t marry you, no one else will marry you, because no man in his right senses will settle for a woman who cannot walk with her two legs. So, I chose to accept you just like that.” Timothy said.
“Thank you so much Timothy, I appreciate you for standing by me. You’ve said it all, no man is willing to settle for a woman like me. Thank you once again for making up your mind to marry me.” Adura said, thinking that was all.
“Yes, baby! One more thing.” Timothy said.
By this time, Adura was willing to do anything just to ensure that Timothy was hers.
“You must sleep with me.” He announced.
“What???” Adura shouted.
“I will give you enough time to think about it. He said.” He said.
Adura became confused.
After some days, Adura accepted.
On the day they both fix to enjoy themselves, Sade felt sick. Adura was beside her taking care of her. When her health deteriorated, they had to call a nurse to attend to her at home.
In the process of asking her questions, they found out that ….
