SISTER ADURAGBEMI
Part 4
By Ojo Rhoda Ayanfeoluwa.
Adura felt the hair on her skin rise the moment she saw ” Brother Bayo has gone to be with the Lord.” on one of her friend’s status.
She kept on scrolling her friend’s status to confirm who that Bro Bayo was. Unfortunately, the picture wasn’t there.
Many thoughts climbed her mind. “Or is it Bro Bayo Alabi? Or Bro Bayo Bamisaye… Or is it Pastor Bayo?”
Immediately, she started binding and casting out the spirit in her making her to be negative. She kept on rejecting those negative thoughts coming to her mind.
“Adura, Pastor Bayo is dead.” Her sister said, trying to control the tap of tears that was about to run if only allowed to blink.
The news of Pastor Bayo’s death didn’t sit well in Adura’s heart.
She checked her friend’s status. Lo and behold, a picture of him was found.
She still couldn’t believe it. She dialed his line. Someone picked the call. The person sounded as if she has been mourning since morning.
“Hello, don’t call this line again. My brother has gone to be with the Lord.” She ended the call.
Adura wept bitterly.
She couldn’t believe that Pastor Bayo who led her to Christ died just like that.
She couldn’t believe that the pastor who stood by her when life became miserable for her was gone.
She couldn’t believe that the same man who encouraged her to live a happy life despite her disability, was gone.
“Pleaseeeeee, someone should wake me up from my sleep.” She shouted.
No one tapped her. No one brought her to her right senses.
The moment her eyes met with her sister’s she knew the brother was gone.
Her sister’s eyes were already as big as a coconut because of her tears.
Adura went online to check people’s comments about the deceased. She just couldn’t help but shed hot tears.
“Pastor Bayo, don’t tell me this is true. I remember how you led me to Christ. I remember how God used you to deliver me from the hands of satan when my life was being threatened because I left the marine world. I remember how you fed me with the word of God. I remembered how you made my Christian growth easy. Pastor Bayo….. “Someone posted.
” You people should not bother your self. Pastor Bayo went to hell fire. How on earth will a pastor for that matter sleep with a choir mistress? Some Christians are agents of devil in disguise. I am just looking at people who are shouting and respecting men of God. They don’t know that some men of God are men of Satan in disguise. Rubbish!” Someone else wrote.
Adura was just shedding tears seeing all that was said about him.
” I heard he had an accident when he was coming from church on a Sunday afternoon.
His parents left him in the church because he went to see his pastor. His parents were expecting him to be home soon only for them to hear that he was involved in an accident.
Well, from the investigations made, Pastor Bayo packed his things away from our state and ran away to his parent’s house. All his movements were made known to Sister Joy.
When he got to his parent’s house, he sent a message to Joy, apologizing for all he had caused her.
He actually ran away because he didn’t have peace of mind. He was scared of looking at his church members. He wasn’t ready to be welcomed by shame, insults, and embarrassment.
On getting home, he still didn’t have the peace of mind he had been desiring. His nightmares taunted him. He had no choice than to open up to the pastor over there.
His pastor told him he had committed sin. Sinners will never have rest of mind until they make their ways right before God. Sinners run up and down when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous is as bold as a lion. Make your ways right with God and you will experience the peace of God that supercedes the understanding of men.
He confessed his sins. To be sincere with you, the pastor was highly disappointed in him. But the joy of it all was that he was willing to trace his steps back.
Well, that sunday, he gave his life back to God. He planned returning to his former church to confess. The pastor told him not to really stress himself. Immediately, the pastor linked up with the head pastor in his former church.
The pastor was already informed because Joy told him on her sick bed that Bayo was responsible for the pregnancy.
The pastor announced the demise of Joy and Bayo couldn’t hide how shocked he was. He literally passed out and came back to life, thinking it was a dream.
Well, everything was settled with God, although Joy’s parents wanted to see the man who killed their daughter.
That same day, Bayo didn’t return to his parents, alive. He died. So, he didn’t die as a sinner.” Another person responded.
Everyone became shocked, angry, confused and sad for Pastor Bayo.
Many people didn’t know about the affairs he had with Joy, but the response of that guy on the group explained it all.
” Whether he repented or not is not my concern. All I know is that God knows those who will get to heaven before now.
God knows those that are going to hell now. So, if anyone is destined for hell, the person will definitely go to hell. Even before you were born to this world, God already knows where you will end up in, in eternity. So, let’s not stress ourselves jare. Living a holy life isn’t for everybody. Living a holy life is hard.” Another person said.
” You are a liar. I don’t blame you because you have little understanding of the bible. God is not a wicked God. He sent His only begotten son to die for all mankind, because He wasn’t interested in the death of sinners.
The provision of salvation for everybody is already made. But, not everyone will tap into the provision made. Human beings have the liberty to choose. So, you suffer the consequences of your choices. If you choose to give your life to Christ, you will end up in heaven, if you choose not to serve God with holiness of heart, you end up in the other place.
So, you are the one that will determine where you want to spend eternity. It is in your hands to make the decision. It is not that God has ordained some people to rot in hell…. “Another person contributed.
Everything being written scared Adura. She became confused.
” Why am I stressing myself serving God who hasn’t answered my prayers. Pastor Bayo told me that God was a miracle working God. I followed Christ because I knew He was capable of healing me. I waited for miracle to happen, yet none happened.
I woke up each day, thinking I would be able to walk with my two legs, but I’m still on my wheel chair.
I am tired of everything. The stigma I receive daily is more than hell. I can’t do what my mates are doing. I can’t run like my mates. I can’t do some home chores on my own. I became a burden to people.
Yet, people won’t stop looking at me as if I’m a nonentity. I’m tired of the stigmas.
I am tired. Is hell fire not better than all I’m passing through.” Adura cried out loud. Her sister heard her. She couldn’t help but shed tears with her while she wrapped her hands around Adura’s neck.
” Adura, you will be fine. In this life ehn, you just can’t blame God for anything that happens to you because I believe God is wiser than anyone on earth.
He is the creator of all things. So, I believe He alone understands why you are like this. Besides, I hope you still remember that you are just the best. Yes, the besttt!!!!
Forget about the physical disabilities. You have abilities that supercedes human comprehension. You have a special heart and special place in the heart of God. You’re the apple of God’s eyes. So, cheer up babe.”Her sister said, tickling her while she let out a big smile.
” I have a good news for you!” Her sister announced.
To be continued.
