Ogbanje episode 4

Øgbanjé. Part 4.

My husband and the other injured passengers were rushed to a nearby hospital.

My husband was placed on life support because he couldn’t breathe on his own.

“Obim please don’t dîe. I can’t do life without you”. I sobbed bitterly.

Obiageli sat close to me calmly. Outwardly, she looks like an innocent toddler but only God knows what is inside of her.

I got infuriated by her presence that I grabbed her angrily.

“What have you done to my husband and to the innocent souls that lost their lives? Who are you? Where are you from”. I asked while shaking her viølently.

She started crying innocently.

“Madam why are you doing that to a toddler. Are you that heartless?”. One of the people in the ward shouted. The rest people concurred with her.

“It’s obvious she’s not her child. That’s how people maltreat other people’s children. Wicked people everywhere”. Another woman added.

They all started attacking me without even asking questions.

I reluctantly let go of Obiageli. Angrily, I stormed out of the ward to call my mother.

“Hello mama! You warned me against adoption but i didn’t listen. That little toddler has grown into a possessed demøn”. I cried.

“What’s going on?”. My mother asked in utmost confusion.

I told her everything from the beginning till the end.

“Why are you just telling me about this?”. My mother queried angrily.

“I thought I could handle it myself. I thought we could manage the situation on our own”. I said.

“Make sure she doesn’t hear our conversations. I will come to your side with a pastor tomorrow”. My mother said.

“Mama what if she attacks you tonight? That is her modus operandi. She attack whoever tries to expose or challenge her”. I said crying.

“Stop crying. No one has ever won a battle by crying. There’s nothing she can do to me. Just act like I told you nothing”. My mother said.

This really made me calm. I turned to get back into the hospital and saw Obiageli standing right behind me. She was inside the hospital when I came to make the phone call.

I froze to death.

“Did…. You.. did you hear…hmmm did you hear anything”. I stuttered.

She didn’t say anything. She just went back into the hospital.

I brought out my phone to call my mother and tell her about what just happened when someone bumped into me and my phone fell down. It went blank immediately just like that.

I was greatly terrified.

I didn’t close my eyes for a moment that night. I paid attention to the tiniest of sound.

Obiageli slept on the couch while I sat beside her. She kept smiling and giggling in her sleep. This gave me chills.

I started praying immediately. When I started praying, she opened her eyes. I stopped praying immediately. Don’t blame me, I’m not a strong christian. My faith wasn’t that strong to confront demøns.

Immediately I stopped praying, she went back to sleep. Fear didn’t allow me to pray again.

At exactly 3:00am, my husband went into cardiac arrest.

“Doctor! Somebody help! Nurse”. I screamed at the top of my voice.

A nurse came running. Seeing the state of things, she called for assistance. The doctor and two other nurses came almost immediately. After a tough tussle, my husband returned to normalcy. His breathing became normal, so the oxygen was removed.

It was really a long night for me.

The next morning, I used someone’s phone to text my mom the address of the hospital.

My mother arrived at the hospital with my younger sister and her pastor.

Immediately the pastor saw Obiageli, he blasted into tongues.

“Madam, did you and your husband pray before bringing this girl into your home?”. The pastor asked.

I didn’t know what to say. Honestly, we didn’t pray because we felt it doesn’t really matter.

“This girl is older than your fore fathers”. The pastor said.

I started shaking. “What have I gotten myself into?”.

“We can’t really pray here. Let’s go to your house”. The pastor said.

My younger sister was asked to watch over my my husband while we took Obiageli home for deliverance.

“Don’t try to act smart. Behave yourself”. The pastor warned Obiageli before turning on the ignition of the car.

Obiageli was calm all through the drive home.

When got into the house, the pastor instructed me lock all the doors and windows in the house. He also asked me make sure i cover them with curtains.

Lit candles 🕯️ were placed at all the doorposts of the house.

Obiageli started screaming in pains even before we started praying.

The pastor raised a song;

“Power dey pass power, amen!”
“Jesus power na super, amen!”
“Power dey pass power, amen!”
“Jesus power na super, amen!”

🎶🎵 🎶 🎵

My mother and I joined immediately. We sang at the top of our voices.

Obiageli began rolling on the floor whilst screaming and groaning in pains.
