Shades of Marriage π₯°πππ₯Ίπ Part 12
“Will you marry me Elizabeth?”. Austin reiterated.
I was just shedding tears uncontrollably.
“Why are you crying na? Say yes please”. Faith urged.
I brought my left hand forward and used my right palms to cover my mouth while I was still sobbing.
“YES. I will marry you “. I said.
Austin gently placed the diamond π on my finger. He stood up and wrapped me around his arms.
“Thank you baby”. Austin said happily.
As the drama queen that she is, Faith went to the wine cellar and brought a champagne. She popped it which made a very loud noise.
She poured it and we all cheered happily as we drank.
With the help of both Faith and her husband, along side with Austin, I was able to move into the apartment Austin rented for me months back. I couldn’t thank Faith enough for being a true friend to me.
Austin had to stay with me for a while.
I was glad he did because of how well he treated me. He didn’t allow me cook nor clean, even when I insisted I was still strong enough to do those things he wouldn’t listen. I sha enjoyed the baby girl’s treatment.
“Babe, what about your ex husband, how are we going to go about him?”. Austin asked one afternoon after we had lunch.
“That’s true! Let me call him”. I said and brought out my phone.
“Hello”. I said as coldly as I could sound.
“Babim… I have missed you”. My ex husband said with all smiles.
“Please stop calling me that. I called to inform you that I want to return the bride price you paid on me”. I said.
“Who said you can return it? See this woman o, you are my wife for life”. He said boastfully.
“Baby please give me the phone let me speak to him “. Austin said boiling with anger.
I had no choice but to hand the phone over to Austin.
“Hello! I’m Austin, Elizabeth’s Fiance…”.
Before he could finish speaking, my ex husband rudely interrupted him.
“Just be fooling yourself. I know you have been fu*king her even when she was still under my roof… You think I didn’t know right? I will never collect the bride price back “.
“Well, I can’t be wasting myself exchanging words with you. Go to the nearest customary court to get back the bride price you paid on her whenever you are ready “. Austin said.
“Look at this man making mouth over my remnant “. He started laughing.
I was just boiling. “This man is actually so disgusting. I can’t believe I was once in love with him”.
“So, do you know she can’t even have children? I guess you don’t know she is barren. She is a man like you”. My ex husband said disdainfully.
I just shook my head with pity. I placed my hands on tummy with big smiles on my face. I couldn’t be happier for being pregnant.
“Well, I think you are the impotent one here”. Austin fired back.
“How can I be impotent when a woman is already carrying my baby?”. My ex said and burst out laughing.
I was shocked to my bone marrow. Austin gave me a glance and we simultaneously shook our heads.
“Well, Elizabeth is also carrying my baby. I would advise you run a DNA test on that baby when he or she is born. I’m not hating, I’m only advising you man to man”. Austin said and ended the call.
Austin came to where I was seated and placed my both hands on his and said;
“All will be well baby. I can’t imagine what you had to go through in his hands”.
“I thank God for everything “. I said.
“Next week, we will be going to see my parents. I want us to get married as soon as possible before the baby bumps start showing “. Austin said.
The thought of meeting his parents sent chills all over my body. I haven’t gotten over the ill treatments I received from my ex husbands family from the first time I met them till the end of the marriage.
“Do you think they will like me?”. I asked.
“They have no choice than to like you. You are Austin’s woman”. He said smiling.
That gave me a little bit of courage.
