The Waiting Pain episode 7&8

EPISODE 7: WALKING AWAY

Ada packed her belongings in silence. Her hands were steady, but her heart was p******g. This was it. She was done.

Chike sat on the bed, watching her. “Ada, where will you go?” His voice was low, almost pleading.

She turned to him, her eyes filled with years of suppressed pain. “Anywhere but here, Chike. I stayed by your side for ten years, carrying a shame that was never mine to bear. You let me suffer. You let your mother insult me. You let the world blame me while you sat in silence. I cannot forgive that.”

He swallowed hard, looking down. “I was afraid.”

Ada let out a bitter laugh. “Afraid? You were selfish, Chike. You watched me break, and you did nothing.”

She zipped up her bag and turned to leave.

“Ada, please…” he whispered.

She paused at the door but didn’t look back. “No, Chike. I deserve better.”

With that, she stepped out of the house that had been her prison for ten years.

As she walked down the street, the weight on her shoulders lifted. For the first time in a long time, she was free.

She didn’t know what the future held, but she knew one thing—she would never look back.

EPISODE 8: A SECOND CHANCE

Ada stood in her new apartment, a small but peaceful space she had rented after leaving Chike. She had started over.

At first, it was hard. The whispers of neighbors, the loneliness of an empty bed, the fear of an uncertain future. But slowly, she built herself up.

She got a job at a catering company, something she had always dreamed of. She surrounded herself with people who supported her. And then, one day, she met David.

David was kind, patient, and most importantly—honest. He knew about her past, and he didn’t care. He loved her for who she was.

One evening, as they sat at a quiet restaurant, David took her hands. “Ada, will you marry me?”

Tears filled her eyes. She had never thought she would love again.

But here she was. Life had given her a second chance.

She smiled and whispered, “Yes.”
