The final episode
Machines beeped widely, the air was dense with disinfectant, and I was surrounded by about eight men, all in white coats. My eyelids felt so heavy, but I tried opening my eyes. The light blinded me, and I shut my eyes. I gradually opened my eyes again.
In less than thirty minutes of regaining consciousness, we were discharged. According to the doctors, my heart stopped beating for some minutes, which led to the black out. However, I knew the truth. Anabel, my father’s high school lover attempted strangling me, but for some reason, changed her mind.
“Father, did you inform my mother of the curse ?” I asked him. My father explained to me, how he felt too guilty to open up, but did so at the waiting room of the hospital. “That explains why Anabel forgave me.” I soliloquiezed.
I got home that morning, and enjoyed my birthday party with my immediate family members, and friends. My sisters were present, so was my father’s high school lover. This experience was beyond an adventure. Not only did I break the curse, I mastered the art of hearing spirits and ghosts. I can see them as well.
As I blew off the candle, my sisters bade me fare well. Dad’s ex lover did so too. My birthday wish was “in all our dealings with people may we never attract curses.” I got to do something none of my sisters ever did, I got to see age nineteen. but deep down, I had a feeling it would be my last year on earth.
