LOVE IN THE APARTMENT
EPISODE 12
After Sandra left ,
Emily sat in the chair, her mind racing with thoughts and emotions. She couldn’t believe she had let Sandra see her true feelings.
But as she sat there, she realized that she couldn’t keep her emotions bottled up forever. She needed to talk to Alex, to tell him how she felt.
But what if he didn’t feel the same way? What if he thought of her as just a friend?
Emily’s heart sank at the thought. She didn’t know if she could handle rejection from Alex.
Just as she was lost in staring at her phone ,
The door opened and Alex and Jamie walked into the house, exhausted from a long day at work. They dropped their bags and keys on the counter, exchanging a tired glance.
“Hey, Em!” Alex called out, noticing Emily sitting in the living room.
Jamie followed his gaze and raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, what’s up, Em?”
Emily looked up from her phone, her expression subdued. “Hey,” she replied, her voice lacking its usual warmth.
Alex and Jamie exchanged a concerned glance. “Everything okay?” Jamie asked, taking a step closer.
Emily nodded, forcing a weak smile. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired.”
Alex and Jamie looked at each other, sensing something was off. But Emily’s closed-off body language told them to back off.
“Okay, cool,” Alex said, trying to sound casual. “We’re gonna go change and grab a snack. You want anything?”
Emily shook her head, her eyes already drifting back to her phone.
As Alex and Jamie headed to their rooms, they couldn’t help but wonder what was bothering Emily. But for now, they let it go, figuring she’d open up when she was ready.
Minutes later,
Jamie walked into the living room, noticing Emily still sitting on the couch, her eyes fixed on her phone. He could tell something was off, so he decided to check in.
“Hey, Em, what’s going on?” Jamie asked, sitting down beside her.
Emily shrugged, not looking up. “Nothing, Jamie. I’m fine.”
Jamie raised an eyebrow. “You’re not fine. You’ve been acting weird . What’s wrong?”
Emily sighed, her shoulders sagging. “I told you, Jamie. I’m okay.”
Jamie put a hand on her shoulder. “Em, come on. You can tell me. Is it something with Friends? Or school? Orโ”
Emily cut him off, her voice firm. “Jamie, I said I’m fine. Drop it, okay?”
Jamie hesitated, unsure how to push further without making Emily withdraw more. He decided to back off, for now.
“Okay, Em. But if you ever want to talk, I’m here for you.”
Emily nodded, still not looking up. Jamie sat with her in silence for a moment before getting up and heading back to his room, wondering what was really going on with his sister…
After Jamie left,
Emily sighed and stood up, entering her room and flopping onto the bed. She stared blankly at the ceiling, her mind racing with thoughts.
Just as she was starting to relax, she heard a knock on her door. “Come in,” she said, not bothering to get up.
The door opened, and Alex walked in, sitting down on a chair near the bed. “Hey, Em. What’s going on? You’ve been acting weird Since i came back.”
Emily shrugged, still staring at the ceiling. “Nothing, Alex. Just tired.”
Alex leaned forward, his eyes locked onto hers. “Em, come on. You can tell me. What’s wrong?”
Emily hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. But Alex’s gentle prodding wore her down. “Do you have anything going on with Sandra?” she blurted out. “Are you dating her? Do you have feelings for her?”
Alex’s expression changed from concern to surprise. “What? No, Em. I don’t have feelings for Sandra. We’re just friends.”
Emily raised an eyebrow, skeptical. “Just friends? That’s why you’re always flirting with her?”
Alex sighed, standing up. “Em, I’m not flirting with her. She’s just friendly and lively, okay? That’s all.”
Emily’s anger flared up. “So Alex, you mean I’m not friendly? You think I’m not lively? You flirt with my friend because you know I love you!”
She paused, realizing what she had just said. Alex was stunned, his eyes wide with surprise.
“What did you just say?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
Emily tried to backtrack, but Alex wouldn’t let her. He stood up, walking close to her, his eyes burning with intensity.
“No, Alex, it’s not what you think…I was just…” she stammered.
But Alex didn’t let her finish. He pulled her close, his hands on her waist, his face inches from hers.
“Emily, I love you too,” he whispered, his lips brushing against hers.
Emily’s heart stopped. She stared up at Alex, searching for a glimmer of hope. And then, his lips were on hers, gentle and soft, yet full of passion.
As they kissed, Emily felt her world spin around her. She had never felt this way before, like she was melting into Alex’s arms.
Finally, they broke apart, gasping for air. Alex smiled, his eyes shining with happiness.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for so long,” he whispered.
Emily smiled back, her heart soaring. “I’ve been wanting you to.”
