A LOVE TRIANGLE
Episode 4a
The incident with Titi had sparked a firestorm on social media, with students taking sides and sharing their own experiences with bullying. Annabel was surprised to see how many people had been affected by the Queens’ behavior.
But not everyone was supportive. Some students, especially those in the Queens’ inner circle, began to turn on Annabel. They accused her of being a drama queen and seeking attention.
Annabel tried to ignore the hate comments, but it was hard. She felt like she was being attacked from all sides.
Sophia noticed that Annabel was struggling and pulled her aside after class. “Hey, are you okay? This must be really tough for you.”
Annabel nodded, feeling a lump form in her throat. “I just wish it would stop. I wish they would leave me alone.”
Sophia hugged her. “It will stop, Annabel. We’ll get through this together, lets go “, they went back to their dorm ,
That evening , sophia went out and Anna was left alone ,
She lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. She couldn’t shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach. The principal’s words of encouragement had helped, but she knew that the Queens wouldn’t give up easily.
She tried to sleep, but her mind was racing. She thought about all the things she had to do, all the classes she had to attend, all the assignments she had to complete. But every time she closed her eyes, she saw Titi’s face, sneering at her.
Finally, she gave up. She got out of bed and decided to go to the school rooftop. She had only been there twice before, but there was something about the quiet, peaceful atmosphere that drew her in.
She grabbed her phone and earphones and made her way to the rooftop. The cool night air hit her as she stepped out onto the rooftop, and she felt a sense of calm wash over her.
She walked to the edge of the rooftop and looked out over the school grounds. The lights of the buildings twinkled below her, and she felt like she was on top of the world.
She put in her earphones and turned on her favorite playlist. The music washed over her, blocking out all the distractions, all the worries.
For a moment, she forgot about the Queens, forgot about the bullying, forgot about everything. She just existed, suspended in the music and the night air.
But as she stood there, lost in the moment, she didn’t notice a figure watching her from the shadows…
The figure stepped forward, and Annabel saw that it was a boy, tall and lean, with piercing brown eyes. He had a quiet confidence about him, and Annabel felt a shiver run down her spine as he approached her.
“Hey,” he said, his voice low and smooth. “I didn’t know anyone else came up here.”
Annabel pulled out her earphones, feeling a little startled. “Yeah, I like it up here,” she said. “It’s quiet.”
The boy nodded, looking out over the grounds. “Yeah, it’s my favorite place too.”
They stood there in silence for a moment, taking in the view. Annabel felt a sense of ease with this boy that she couldn’t explain.
“What’s your name?” she asked finally.
“Kamzy,” he replied, turning to her with a smile.
Annabel’s heart skipped a beat. She had heard of Kamzy, the leader of the K3, the most powerful group in school. But there was something different about him now, something that made her feel like he wasn’t just a legend, but a real person.
“Annabel,” she said, feeling a little shy.
Kamzy’s eyes locked onto hers, and Annabel felt like he could see right through her.
As he locked eyes with her, Kamzy’s hand reached out to touch her hair. Annabel flinched, feeling a surge of fear, and stood up abruptly.
But before she could react further, Kamzy said, “Relax, I just wanted to remove a dirt from your hair.”
Annabel’s face flushed with embarrassment as she realized her mistake. She mouthed “Oh” and felt her heart racing with humiliation.
Without waiting to hear anything else, Annabel turned and ran off towards her dorm, leaving Kamzy standing alone on the rooftop.
As she ran, she could feel Kamzy’s eyes on her, and she wondered what he must think of her now. She felt like she had overreacted, like she had shown him a side of herself that she couldn’t take back.
When she reached her dorm, Annabel slammed the door shut behind her and leaned against it, trying to catch her breath. She couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Sophia looked up from her book, concerned. “Hey, what’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
Annabel shook her head, trying to process her emotions. “I just…I had a weird encounter with Kamzy on the rooftop.”
Sophia’s eyes widened. “Kamzy? What happened?”
Annabel took a deep breath and told Sophia everything – how Kamzy had touched her hair, how she had flinched and run away, how embarrassed she felt.
Sophia listened attentively, her expression sympathetic. “Annabel, it’s okay,” she said. “You were just startled. It’s not a big deal.”
Annabel nodded, feeling a little better. “I guess you’re right. I just feel like I overreacted.”
Sophia smiled. “You didn’t overreact. You were just caught off guard. Don’t worry about it, okay?”
Annabel smiled back, feeling a sense of relief. “Okay. Thanks, Sophia.”
The two friends chatted for a bit longer before Sophia yawned and said goodnight. Annabel wished her a good night’s sleep and lay down on her own bed, feeling exhausted.
As she drifted off to sleep, Annabel couldn’t shake off the memory of Kamzy’s piercing brown eyes. She wondered what he had thought of her, whether he had found her behavior strange.
But as she let herself relax, Annabel realized that she didn’t have to worry about it now. She could deal with it tomorrow.
With that thought, Annabel fell asleep, her mind quiet and her body at rest.
