The Sudden Proposal episode 6

THE SUDDEN PROPOSAL 6

It was another Sunday and I woke up excited. In no time I was set for church and I wore a dress Folu got for me. It was my first time wearing it, I’m not into red but I just found the gown beautiful that Sunday morning and I decided to try it on.

After church, I hurried to catch up with Folu where he sat with Dennis.

“Hi, Folu! Happy Sunday,” I greeted him and offered his friend a handshake.

“Hey B, Happy Sunday. Red looks good on you though!”

“Oh! Thanks.”

I couldn’t hide my blush as I achieved the aim for which I wore the clothes. After exchanging pleasantries, Folu offered to drop me at home but I refused. I felt I had already been too forward so I decided not to act easy. It seemed Folu was picking some signals so I decided to dodge. It is not me they will catch. I had to cook up a story that I needed to visit the market before going home.

“Guy, believe me when I say it is working,” Dennis louded.

“What is working again?”

“Didnt you notice? The Lady was all over you and if I am correct, that is a green light,” Dennis added.

“You don start. You speak as if you don’t know how B can be. All friendly until you try and receive it.”

“Guy, I be love apostle, I know when a woman loves a man. You see, our plan is yielding fruits and we must stick to it.”

“Hmmm! Make I just believe you sha because this is the first time she’d come meet me up after church,” Folu affirmed.

“Ahh! You will pay me for the services rendered oh.”

“Relax! Let it click first.”

“It will, Guy.”

“But! Did you see how good she was looking? Common now!” Folu mentioned.

“Security! We need you! One comrade down,” Dennis screamed.

“You Dey ment, guy. Let’s go now.”

The duo entered the vehicle and drove off.

I made some vegetable soup when I arrived home and I ate it up with semovita. I watched 2 movies after which I decided to call family and friends. After talking to my parents and siblings, I felt the need to talk to Folu.

“No now! B, calm down. You saw Folu already today. Don’t call him,” I soliloquized.

“It doesn’t matter, just call him,” another thought came.

Men and brethren, I shunned pride, picked up my phone again and punched in Folu’s number.

“Hi, B.”

“Fofo! How are you?”

“Never been better and you?”

“I’m fine, I’m just home alone and bored.”

“Oh oh! No light? You could see a movie,” Folu suggested.

“Seen two already, ain’t working.”

“Okay! Can I come over or you wanna come over?”

“Uhmmm! You said?” she asked.

“Ahh! I’m so sorry, never mind. I… I…, I’m sorry,” he added.

“No Folu, it’s fine. I can come over or will you come over? I made some vegetable soup and I feel you’d love it.”

“Uhm! Okay, I would have loved to come but Dennis is out with my car. I won’t mind that soup though.”

“Oh! That’s fine, I will be there in 20,” I said.

“I will be expecting you, B.”

The call ended and I jumped for joy, I didn’t know why I was rejoicing but I refused to believe it was what Jessica spoke of.

“I am not in love with Folu. I only enjoy his company, that’s all, “ I said looking at the mirror as I sprayed the most scintillating perfume in my collection. I added lipgloss to my lips and zoned off.

I arrived at Folu’s place with a mini platter of the food I had earlier prepared. Watching him eat and savour the moment was everything. I kept passing gazes when he wasn’t looking at me and kept wondering how I never saw the beauty he possessed.

We played some games together and Dennis returned shortly before I left. Folu offered to drop me off and I accepted.

When we arrived at my gate, Folu insisted on taking me inside. After this, he made his way towards the door and this was when I made a wrong move.

“Fofo, can I at least get a hug?”

Folu’s gaze widened but he nodded in affirmation. I hugged him and he held me in a tight embrace. I immediately shook off and waved him goodbye.

“Ahh! B, you’re losing guard. What did you just do now? Gosh! No now!”

I kept thinking till I slept off.

To be continued…
