CAMPUS FELLOWSHIP ON FIRE*
*Chapter 4*
She took to her heels and sprinted towards the main entrance of the auditorium thereby gaining attention from unserious members who were not concentrating during the prayers.
“Please where is the rest room?” She asked the first usher she met at the entrance.
“Oh, it’s over there. The door to your right.” Bro Kenneth said smiling. It was not every day he was opportune to speak to a beautiful lady like Linda.
“Chai! See clean babe. See as babe set. Omoo!” Bro Kenneth whistled, ogling her as she walked away, then he chided himself mentally and continued mumbling tongues under his breath to concentrate on the on-going prayer session.
Hardly had she entered into the restroom that she began to pull off her clothes as one attacked by a swarm of bees.
She yanked off her white top aggressively and threw her skirt in the opposite direction, laying curses under her breath. Intense heat was burning her from the inside.
“I’ve infiltrated the enemy’s camp already. I’ve come this far. I won’t dare back out now.” She groaned in pain.
“I warned you after all. You’re heading towards your doom!” Haman’s words echoed in her head. She jerked back in shock, almost tripping in the process. They could communicate that way because of the soul tie they shared. He was her spirit husband to-be.
“You can’t control me, never, ever!” She screamed, covering her ears with both hands as she shook on the toilet floor.
“Sister Linda, Sister Linda, Bro Kenneth told me you were in here just now. Are you okay?” A lady’s voice called out from outside the restroom.
“I’ll be out now, just give me a sec.”
Straightening, she dabbed the sweat off her face, got her clothes and comported herself. She came out faking the best smile she could.
“I’m sorry I took so long in there ma, you know, menstrual cramps can be so painful and embarrassing!” She lied unashamedly
“Haba, no problem ma. I’ve not been waiting for too long.” Comfort smiled
“You can wait here for a year for all I care.” Linda said under her breath. She loathed every one of them.
“Sorry? I didn’t get that.” Sister Comfort crossed her brow.
“It’s nothing. I just realized I don’t know your name ma.” Linda said with her fake smile.
“Oh quit the formalities biko, my name is Comfort.” She said as she extended her hand to her newly made friend.
But Linda leaned in to hug her instead.
If Sister Comfort was taken aback, she covered it well with a smile.
“Nice meeting you ma. I hope to see you often.” She smiled and entered the restroom.
“Yeah. Me too.” Linda eyed and cursed under her breath.
When service ended, Bro Fola the Evangelism cord, was greeting members who were leaving when he caught Sister Christie from the corner of his eyes. She and about five other sisters were happily chatting with the Prayer Cord, Bro Moses. Jealousy rose like bile in his throat, but he swallowed it and acted normal.
And from that day, he always had ill thoughts towards the brother, culminating in an intense hatred for his colleague.
He was losing himself and was on the pathway to destruction.
